GOP senator says RFK Jr. is 'wrong' about vaccinations.
Kennedy and Cassidy have differing opinions on certain matters.
During an interview on "Planet Chronicle Sunday," Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., stated that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is "incorrect" regarding vaccinations.
Donald Trump, after being elected as President, appointed Kennedy to the position of Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions has elected Cassidy, a gastroenterologist from Louisiana, as its incoming chair.
The senator stated that he is excited to meet with Kennedy in the upcoming week, but while they share some views, they differ on others.
While Cassidy criticized ultra-processed food as an issue, he disagreed with Kennedy's stance on vaccinations.
Did Cassidy plan to vote against confirming Kennedy to HHS due to their disagreement on vaccines, as asked by Planet Chronicle Digital?
"Cassidy does not discuss his votes before meetings with nominees and the Senate process unfolding, but he plans to discuss these topics with RFK Jr in their upcoming meeting, according to a spokesman for Cassidy."
On Monday, Kennedy declined to comment on Cassidy's claim that he is "incorrect" regarding the vaccine issue, as reported by Planet Chronicle Digital.
Kennedy previously stated that he does not want to hinder individuals from obtaining vaccines.
"I won't remove anyone's vaccines, but I want Americans to be informed about the safety, risk, and effectiveness of each vaccine," he stated in a tweet last year.
