Following his 'disastrous' debate performance, Republicans assert Biden's unfitness for the presidency.
In Atlanta, the first 2024 presidential debate between President Biden and former President Trump took place.
Following Thursday's debate between former President Trump and President Biden, Republicans were ecstatic.
Several politicians posted on social media after the debate, declaring it a triumph for Trump and a poor showing by Biden.
"America thrived under a Trump Administration, Biden is unfit to lead, and those around him should be ashamed of supporting him. Trump's dominance is evident, and there won't be a second debate," South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, a potential VP candidate for Trump, wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Alabama Sen. Katie Britt congratulated President Trump on his victory in the Presidential Debate, stating that the Biden-Harris experiment had failed and it was time to bring strength back to the White House. Meanwhile, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum criticized Joe Biden for failing to provide answers on the major issues facing Americans during the debate.
"Donald Trump's clear statement in the debate was backed up by his record, making it a knockout for him," he added.
RNC Chairman Michael Whatley stated that Trump's debate performance was "overwhelming," while Biden struggled to comprehend the questions.
The RNC account mocked Biden's closing statement, stating, "Biden's disastrous and humiliating debate performance ended just as it began, with him rambling incoherently. Not only is he not mentally sound, but he can't even locate the deck. SAD!"
Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., stated that Trump has proven himself to be the only candidate capable of saving the U.S., while Kari Lake, the Republican conservative candidate for Arizona Senate, argued that Biden is unfit for the job and it's time to bring back the president who coined the phrase "YOU'RE FIRED!"
