FEC documents reveal that the Harris campaign spent $2.6 million on private flights for staff in October.
Over $1 billion was spent by the Harris campaign during the campaign trail.
Documents reveal that Vice President Harris' campaign spent $2.6 million on private flights in the final weeks of the election season.
The campaign, which spent $1 billion on the trail and is $20 million in debt, is being scrutinized for its financial decisions before losing the Nov. 5 election to President-elect Trump.
In October, the Harris campaign spent $2,626,110 on private flights, as revealed in a Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital.
The disbursement costs varied from $3,500 to $940,000, with $2.2 million going to Private Jet Services Group and $430,000 to Advanced Aviation Team, a charter flight broker.
Since July, the total flight-related expenses have exceeded $10 million, with campaign staff spending $3.1 million on private flights in September alone.
The campaign has been closely examined for its financial decisions, including the payment of $1 million to Oprah Winfrey's production company after she spoke at a rally on Oct. 15.
Besides giving $4 million to Village Marketing Agency, a social media influencer connectivity company, the Harris campaign also spent at least $15 million on event production, according to FEC records.
The campaign has faced criticism for its use of private jets, which emit more greenhouse gases per passenger than commercial flights and contradicts Harris's previous statement that climate change is an "existential threat."
""Being practical acknowledges that climate change is a serious threat to us as human beings, and recognizes that we have the capacity to change our behaviors and reduce its effects by reducing greenhouse gas emissions," Harris stated in a 2019 interview with CNN."
Planet Chronicle Digital reached out to the Harris campaign for comment.
