Elon Musk supports Rick Scott for Senate majority leader.
Rick Scott faces opposition from fellow Republican senators John Cornyn of Texas and John Thune of South Dakota.
On Sunday, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, endorsed Rick Scott for Senate majority leader, adding his name to the growing list of MAGA figures supporting the Florida Republican.
"Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader!" Musk wrote on X Sunday afternoon, following the Republicans' victory in the Senate on Election Day.
In response to President-elect Trump's demand for recess appointments in the Senate, Scott posted a message, which Musk then responded to.
"I completely agree, Scott replied, and I will do everything necessary to expedite the submission of your nominations."
Scott has been endorsed by Musk and several other Trump allies, including Sens. Rubio, Hagerty, Johnson, and Paul, for the position of Senate GOP leader.
Since 2007, McConnell's position has been contested by fellow Republican senators John Cornyn of Texas and John Thune of South Dakota, with some observers viewing Scott's bid as a long shot.
Some reports suggest that Trump has been hesitant to publicly endorse Scott's bid for the top job, despite Scott expressing hope that the president-elect would do so.
