Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy concur on the importance of examining US financial support for NGOs.
According to Ramaswamy, the root issue goes beyond merely squandering funds.
The DOGE team, comprising Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, has stated their intention to scrutinize NGO funding.
"The U.S. government's funding of non-government organizations is a waste of taxpayer dollars, and the real issue lies in the lack of transparency regarding opaque foreign aid and nonprofit groups contributing to our own border crisis, as Ramaswamy pointed out in a post on X."
Musk agreed, commenting, "Absolutely."
Additionally, he concurred with his sibling Kimbal Musk's assertion that NGOs serve as "government spokespersons" who "need to be dismantled."
Kimbal Musk tweeted that NGOs are government-created mouthpieces that promote their agenda and push for censorship without the usual government checks and balances. He advocated for their removal.
"Yes," Elon Musk replied.
In a Wall Street Journal article from last month, Musk and Ramaswamy stated that they would function as unofficial volunteers, not federal officials or employees.
Trump stated that DOGE would offer counsel and support from beyond the government and collaborate with the White House and Office of Management & Budget to implement significant structural changes and adopt an entrepreneurial approach to government operations.
In a recent post, Musk stated that "Greater government control equates to less power for the people."
