Despite being over 20 days since the occurrence of the mysterious NJ drones, the Pentagon remains clueless about their origins.
The FBI has expressed concern about the limited knowledge they possess regarding the drones they are monitoring, despite maintaining that they are not foreign.
Despite the appearance of dozens of mysterious drones in the New Jersey night sky over three weeks ago, the public remains without a clear explanation of the phenomenon.
An Iranian "mother ship" could be the source of the swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles, according to Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J.
The Pentagon shot down his idea.
"According to Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh, there is no Iranian ship near the US coast and no mother ship is launching drones towards the US. She also stated that there is no evidence to suggest the drones are from a foreign adversary."
"Van Drew stated on Planet Chronicle on Thursday that "the truth is not being told to us" and that "they treat the American public as if we are foolish.""
Despite the Pentagon's assertion that the drones are not foreign, the FBI has acknowledged its concern about the lack of information it has regarding them.
Robert Wheeler, FBI assistant director of the Critical Incident Response Group, informed Congress that there is no evidence to suggest Americans are at risk, but the lack of knowledge is concerning.
Nearby sensitive sites, such as a military research facility, have been frequently visited by drones in recent weeks.
If the drones are not foreign-made, onlookers are left questioning why U.S. agencies are taking so long to determine their origin.
According to Doug Birkey, executive director of the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies, many of our detection systems, tracking methods, and understanding capabilities are inadequate and outdated.
""
And Birkey remains unconvinced that the drones are not foreign in origin.
He stated that we cannot definitively determine the source's origin, but based on their level of sophistication, size, and behavioral patterns, it is likely that they are from an adversary source.
""
Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey has maintained that drones do not pose a threat to public safety. The FBI is collaborating with local law enforcement in the investigation and has requested the public's help through its tip line.
Unidentified drones have frequently been spotted near U.S. military installations. Recently, drones hovered near Langley Air Force Base for two weeks, and their source remains unknown. Previously, a Chinese spy balloon traveled near military installations for a week before being destroyed off the East Coast.
"The drones appear to face minimal severe repercussions, which increases the likelihood of an escalation."
No New Jersey drones have been shot down or had their systems jammed by U.S. officials, and the drones that hovered near Langley were not intercepted.
""
In military operations, drone swarms are used by officers to attack enemies, making it more challenging for them to shoot down the drones.
According to New Jersey state Rep. Dawn Fantasia, who received a briefing from law enforcement, the drones are six feet in diameter, fly in a coordinated manner with their lights off, and seem to evade detection by traditional methods.
Since Nov. 18, drones have been sighted every night until about 11 p.m., with reports ranging from four to 180 sightings per night.
"In my view, the only viable option at this juncture is military intervention. Without taking action, there will be no resolution."
The U.S. Nothern Command is aware and monitoring reports of unauthorized drone flights near military installations in New Jersey, including Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Weapons Station Earle. For more information on any safety and security measures being taken, please refer to these installations.
