Democrats need to be cautious with their election momentum, according to Michael Moore's warning.
Vice President Kamala Harris leading the ticket has boosted Democrats' optimism, says Moore.
It's the Democrats' race to lose.
Michael Moore, a liberal activist and filmmaker, believes that Democrats should not squander their opportunity to defeat former President Trump in the upcoming presidential election, given that Vice President Kamala Harris is now leading the ticket.
Moore, a vocal and influential figure, stated to the Guardian that the party is experiencing a surge of optimism due to Biden's decision to withdraw from the race after facing intense pressure from influential left-wing voices, including Moore.
"Moore stated in a U.K. publication that the experience was not simply a sugar-high or what recovering heroin addicts refer to as a pink cloud. Instead, it was a period of depression that lasted for many weeks before suddenly becoming non-depressing. Although Moore is now hopeful, they acknowledge that it is up to them to maintain this positive outlook and that they have a history of blowing it."
In his 2016 movie "Trumpland," Moore warned Democrats that Trump would defeat Hillary Clinton, citing Trump's message as appealing to disenfranchised voters in Michigan and other battleground states.
In 2020, he expressed his enthusiasm for Trump as "off the charts" and urged Democrats to unite to defeat the incumbent.
Moore is pleased that Harris selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate and believes she has the potential to cause significant harm to Trump during their upcoming debate.
""Anything can happen when someone gets under that thin skin, including Trump exploding, speaking like a 12-year-old, though no offense to 12-year-olds, or leaving the stage," Moore says."
Harris and Walz are individuals of substance, and they are taking a measured approach to ensure they make the right decision. While it's only been a few weeks, they are committed to being transparent and sharing their plans with the public. However, they understand that mistakes may occur, and they are prepared to address them as they arise.
Harris' decision not to attend Netanyahu's address to Congress was praised by Moore, indicating a shift in direction and urging her to cater to the party's anti-Israel base.
"Young people are vehemently opposed to war and Biden's stance on it."
Harris must address "affordable housing, student debt, peace, and the dying planet," according to him.
Moore suggests that the best way to defeat Trump is to maintain the "weird and cringe" approach until the debate and then deliver a decisive blow.
"Irony, satire, and a straightforward approach can effectively expose the absurdity and insanity of the conversation between these two men. Connect with them on a rational level, regardless of political affiliation."
The Trump-Vance ticket has been labeled as "weird" by Democrats, while the Harris-Walz campaign has been criticized for their cringeworthy and scripted online videos.
Many on the Left, including Moore, called for Biden to drop out of the race and let Vice President Harris succeed him last month.
"Can you, Mr. President, take one more courageous and daring step?" Moore wrote in a Substack article prior to Biden's withdrawal. Previously, he had accused the Democratic Party of committing "elder abuse" by pushing President Biden to remain in the race.
"She will have three and a half months to demonstrate her intelligence, abilities, and empathy to the American people. She is determined, caring, and unstoppable. She will possess the authority to implement substantial executive orders that can benefit the middle class, safeguard the environment, and uphold fundamental women's rights."
