Conservatives respond to Kamala Harris' recent "word salad" on climate change "deadlines"
Harris emphasized the importance of adhering to deadlines in her first interview as the Dem nominee.
Vice President Kamala Harris' policy positions have changed since she took over the Democratic ticket for president, and conservative activists and media outlets have shared their thoughts on a clip of CNN's interview with her.
In the upcoming CNN interview, anchor Dana Bash posed questions to the guest about the changes they have made and how voters should view them. Specifically, she asked if the changes were due to increased experience and knowledge, if they were a result of running for president in a Democratic primary, and if voters should feel confident that the guest's current statements would become their policy moving forward.
Harris replied, "My values have not changed, and I believe that is the most important and significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions."
Harris stated that she has always believed in the reality of the climate crisis and has worked on it, emphasizing the need for urgent action and metrics that hold ourselves accountable to deadlines. She mentioned that they had achieved this with the Inflation Reduction Act.
"Gobbledygook," conservative commentator Steve Guest wrote on X. "A deadline is defined as the latest time or date by which something must be completed."
Noah Rothman, a senior writer at the National Review, characterized her comments as "rambling."
An "instant classic" was described as such by British-American journalist Charles C. W. Cooke.
She's still got it—even as the nominee," he said, "Undefeated.
The Blaze's X account characterized Harris' media interactions as "word salad," a term commonly used by Republicans.
Harris stated, "Our objective is to achieve specific targets for greenhouse gas emission reductions in the United States and worldwide."
"My value regarding securing our border has not changed," she stated.
"As Attorney General of California, I prosecuted transnational criminal organizations for violating American laws related to the illegal passage of guns, drugs, and human beings across our border for two terms. My values remain unchanged," she stated.
