Casey-McCormick recount defended by Fetterman, challenger's team claims no path for Democrat.
Fetterman joked that Lake needed to find a new job after being asked about other close races.
Pennsylvania's other senator defended the commonwealth's automatic recount, stating that Democratic Sen. Bob Casey Jr. has no mathematical path to victory, shortly after Republican Sen.-elect David McCormick's team held a call with reporters attesting to this fact.
According to Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., the law in the state requires a race to be within 0.5% to trigger a recount.

Fetterman said Republicans are making the opposite case in Wisconsin.
"What about Kari Lake? Do you think she's all that?" Fetterman asked. "Let's focus on the current situation in Pennsylvania. According to the law, we must count every vote, which is why there's a recount. This is not an opinion, but a fact."
According to state officials, lawyers for the McCormick campaign stated that the maximum ballot universe left is approximately 80,000. However, they personally estimated the number to be closer to 30,000.
As of Wednesday, Philadelphia County had no non-adjudicated ballots remaining, and the blue-collar counties of the city, including Allegheny in the west, where Pittsburgh is located, were almost finished tabulating.
The campaign official stated on the call that there is no mathematical or statistical basis for their path to victory, as several county boards of elections have either declared their intention or already counted undated mail-in ballots.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled that the process should never be flouted.
The McCormick representatives mentioned Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, and Centre counties, which are all blue and suburban except for Centre County, which trends Democratic due to Penn State University, as jurisdictions where there have been murmurs of counting such ballots.
On Thursday, the Republican Party and the National Committee sued all 67 county boards of election to prevent the counting of undated ballots and separately petitioned the 5-2 Democratic-majority Supreme Court to intervene.
According to PAGOP chairman Lawrence Tabas, while Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick currently holds a significant lead of nearly 30,000 votes over his Democrat opponent Bob Casey, several County Boards of Elections, including Philadelphia, Bucks, Centre, and potentially others, took an unauthorized vote to count undated or improperly dated mail-in ballots, in direct violation of Pennsylvania law and two State Supreme Court orders.
As of Thursday, with 99% of precincts reporting, McCormick leads Casey by 3.384 million to 3.367 million votes, or a difference of approximately 0.4%.
