On Tuesday, President-elect Trump once more proposed that Canada be included as the 51st state of the U.S., displaying maps depicting Canada as part of the country.
On Tuesday night, Trump posted two images on Truth Social: one featuring a map of the U.S. and Canada labeled "United States," and another depicting the two countries covered in an American flag.
"Oh Canada!" he wrote in one post.
The president has been advocating for Canada's inclusion in the U.S. in recent days, as stated on Tuesday.
"Trump stated at a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, that Canada and the United States should be a state together."
On Monday, the president-elect contended in a social media post that "numerous individuals in Canada cherish being the 51st State."
Canada cannot continue to rely on massive trade deficits and subsidies from the United States, according to a statement on Truth Social.
"Justin Trudeau resigned because he knew that if Canada merged with the U.S., there would be no tariffs, taxes would decrease significantly, and they would be completely secure from the threat of Russian and Chinese ships that constantly surround them. "Together, what a great nation it would be!" he exclaimed."
Canada will not join the U.S., as announced by Trudeau, who stated on Tuesday that he will resign as prime minister once a replacement is chosen.
"Canada will never be part of the United States, according to Trudeau's statement on social media platform X. However, both countries benefit from being each other's biggest trading and security partners."
In recent weeks, Trump has been mocking Canada by suggesting it could become the 51st state and sharing a manipulated image of himself standing with a Canadian flag on a mountain.
The president-elect has repeatedly referred to Trudeau as "governor" and threatened to impose massive tariffs on Canada.
