Bondi flips script on Dem senator after suggesting she will weaponize DOJ.
President-elect Trump was 'targeted' by the federal government, according to Bondi's conversation with Sen. Whitehouse.
Conservatives on social media praised Pam Bondi's response to a question from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., during her confirmation hearing on Wednesday.
"Is it appropriate for a prosecutor to begin with a suspect's name and search for a crime?" Whitehouse questioned. "No, a prosecutor's duty is to begin with a crime and search for a suspect. That's correct."
Bondi responded by highlighting the federal government’s investigations into Trump.
"The weaponization we've witnessed in the past four years, particularly concerning Donald Trump, is the root of the issue, according to Senator Bondi," she stated.
""If I am attorney general, I will not politicize the office by targeting people based on their political affiliation. Justice will be administered evenhandedly throughout the country. We must bring the country together and move forward, or we risk losing it," Bondi stated."
Conservatives on social media quickly took notice of the exchange.
"Eric Daughtery, Florida's Voice News assistant news director, posted on X that Pam Bondi flips the script on Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D) by making it clear that she will not weaponize the DOJ."
Greg Price, Trump '24 deputy rapid response director, posted on X that Pam Bondi is making Sheldon Whitehouse look foolish.
Katie Pavlich, a Planet Chronicle contributor, posted that Senator Whitehouse was explaining unironically that prosecutors should look for a suspect after committing a crime, not the other way around.
"Trump was opposed by the DOJ for years."
The Whitehouse's office did not immediately respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry.
The U.S. Senate is predicted to approve Bondi, and there are rumors that some Democrats may support her.
