Body language expert analyzes Trump-Harris debate: 'Fell into the trap'
According to an expert, Vice President Kamala Harris successfully goaded former President Trump into becoming angry on multiple occasions.
Susan Constantine, a body language expert, claims that Vice President Kamala Harris successfully baited former President Trump during Tuesday's ABC Presidential debate, causing him to become agitated and lose focus.
The first time Trump and Harris debated each other was on Tuesday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Commentators believed that Harris had a better performance, while Trump had given better performances in previous debates.
As the night progressed, Trump's frustration and anger intensified in response to Harris' actions.
According to Constantine, Harris was aware of Trump's vulnerabilities, including his tendency to exaggerate crowd sizes at rallies. When she brought these issues up, Trump responded defensively, which ultimately harmed him.
"Constantine claims that he was easily manipulated by her games, which were all strategies. When she provoked him, he would respond with anger, and she would continue to provoke him, especially when it came to the crowds."
Trump's rallies attract large crowds, while Harris pays attendees to attend her rallies and often sees people leaving early due to exhaustion and boredom.
Constantine says that she knew all of his weaknesses and he would defend them instead of answering the question and staying on task. He spent most of his time hitting her back with the ball and defending himself, which was not a good strategy.
"Trump's facial expressions showed his growing anger as he dropped his shoulders and head, sinking into a slumped position. Then, his upper lip quickly moved upward in a micro-expression of hatred and disgust. This was a clear indication of his scorn towards her for her statement."
Trump was enraged because Harris made disparaging remarks, and he couldn't regain control of the debate after being provoked by her, whose smirks indicated she knew she had trapped the former president.
"She could tell he was angry by the way he spoke, with his pursed eyebrows and tight lips. In fact, she could hear it in his voice. But what she didn't know was that he was hiding his own anger towards her. She didn't realize that he was suppressing his feelings, which only made her feel more powerful. That's why she always smiled at him, and every time she got him, she rewarded herself with a big smile."
According to Constantine, Harris' smiles were often insincere and excessively long, which she used to provoke Trump and as a backup plan when she disagreed with his statements.
"According to Constantine, a real smile lasts only four seconds. When a person holds that smile and does it throughout, it is condescending and dismissive of what Trump is saying. This is covered with a perma-smile, which is inauthentic. If she wants to diminish what Trump is saying, she should smile or laugh all the way through."
Trump had a more serious tone while Harris appeared happier, according to Constantine.
Harris frequently adopted a "superiority stance" by tilting her head back and raising her nose, while crossing her arms to evaluate.
Constantine remarks, "It was both condescending and smug. That wasn't a wise decision."
Harris was very expressive with her hand gestures and maintained eye contact with the camera, skillfully framing her movements.
"She spoke to the American people and played the card musically perfect in many ways. Therefore, I believe she received a lot of coaching."
Harris went out of sync when she was tripped up about a question about whether she supports any restrictions on a woman's right to an abortion, according to Constantine.
"She couldn't answer that question, so she evaded it by looking down and doing the 'bobblehead.' That was a cluster of deception."
Harris was commended by Constantine for her pre-debate handshake, as she reached out to Trump to interact with him.
"She hesitated for a moment, but then she went ahead with it. I'll give her credit for that. The match was intense, with the two sides completely at odds. There was no love lost on the Trump side, and Harris used that to her advantage. Trump fell into a trap."
