If the results of this week's district attorney elections are any indication, Americans are moving away from the woke left's approach to crime.

This week, a majority of the 25 district attorneys linked to George Soros were defeated, indicating a growing opposition to progressive policies that some argue have contributed to a rise in crime in recent years.

Despite Vice President Harris's comfortable majorities in deep blue jurisdictions, many of the losing Soros candidates suffered heavy losses, indicating that a significant portion of Democrats are also disillusioned with the progressive Left's soft on crime approach, according to the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund, which monitored the 25 races.

Out of the 25 district attorneys backed by Soros, 12 lost or were removed from office.

Since 1984, Soros, a Hungarian-born left-wing billionaire, has given over $32 billion to his Open Society Foundations, which bankrolls various candidates worldwide who share his progressive agenda.

In Los Angeles, District Attorney George Gascón, supported by Soros, lost 24% to his tough on crime opponent, Nathan Hochman, a former federal prosecutor, with crime being a major concern during the election.

In contrast, Harris swept Los Angeles County by 30 points.

In San Francisco, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins won the election, defeating Ryan Khojasteh, who was backed by former district attorney Chesa Boudin, who was recalled in 2022.

Jenkins and Gascón both expressed in January and after Gascón's loss this week that the city has been moving to the right in recent years.

In a loss for Soros-backed prosecutors in California, District Attorney Pamela Price was recalled in Alameda County, home to Oakland and Berkeley, less than two years after taking office following backlash for her alleged soft-on-crime approach. Vice President Harris clinched the county 75%-25%.

According to Sean Kennedy, the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund’s policy director, a significant number of Democrats in battleground states and California, Vice President Harris' home state, voted to remove progressive prosecutors.

In deep blue areas, the soft-on-crime approach has proven to be both an unsuccessful policy experiment and a political loser.

Prop 36, which aimed to reinstate strict sentences for drugs and theft, was approved by 70.4% of California voters. All counties in the state supported the measure.

Retail chains and small businesses have been severely impacted by theft, smash-and-grab robberies, and organized retail crime gangs, while cities such as San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles have experienced a surge in property crime and retail theft.

The opposition to lenient crime policies was particularly intense among voters in key states, according to Kennedy.

In Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties, Georgia, District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez was removed from her position by 20%. This occurred after she represented the same county where nursing student Laken Riley was allegedly killed by an illegal migrant who had been arrested and then released before the crime.

Harris outperformed Gonzalez by 16%, with Trump winning 43.5% of those counties.

In Maricopa County, Arizona, and Macomb County, Michigan, traditional prosecutors surpassed Trump's victory margin and defeated Soros-backed opponents, as per Kennedy.

"Traditionally minded prosecutors received more votes than either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris in significant district attorney races, despite one out of eight Harris voters supporting a tough on crime candidate. This shows that public safety is not a partisan issue but a matter of common sense."

Despite losses for Soros-linked candidates, Shalena Cook Jones managed to retain her seat as progressive prosecutor in Savannah with a 7% margin.

In Florida, Monique Worrell, backed by Soros, won back her position as the Orange-Osceola state attorney, defeating Andrew Bain by a narrow margin of 5.1%. She had been removed from her job the previous year by Gov. Ron DeSantis for "neglect of duty" related to crime.

In August 2022, DeSantis suspended Warren for refusing to enforce the state's abortion ban. Warren lost to Republican Suzy Lopez in Hillsborough County.

Since 2022, over 30 Soros-linked prosecutors have left office and been replaced by traditional district attorneys, according to Kennedy.
