Bill Clinton endorses Kamala Harris despite Trump's economy performing better.
While campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Clinton made a gaffe.
Bill Clinton urged Michigan voters to back Kamala Harris for president, despite their belief that the economy performed better under Donald Trump.
"At a rally for Harris in Muskegon Heights, Michigan on Wednesday, Clinton stated that he intended to make three brief points. He commended the voters for their performance under his presidency and expressed his belief that he was entitled to his opinion regarding who would be a better leader. Additionally, he argued that it was not accurate to assert that individuals were obligated to vote for Trump solely due to the economy's improvement, as he did not concur with this perspective."
With less than a week until election day, both the Trump and Harris campaigns are intensely focused on reaching as many voters as possible, especially in swing states such as Michigan, where polls indicate a close contest between the two candidates.
The Real Clear Politics polling average shows that Harris leads Trump by 0.4 points in Michigan, while the latest Planet Chronicle Power Rankings classify the state as a toss-up.
In Georgia, Clinton made a gaffe about an undocumented immigrant who killed a native citizen, which was not his first mistake while campaigning for Harris.
"A young woman was killed by an immigrant in Georgia, and an ad was made about it. You remember that, don't you, Clinton?" "Yes, but if they had undergone proper vetting, that tragedy might not have occurred."
Although the mistake occurred, the campaign led Clinton to campaign in Michigan for Harris, alongside Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
In 2022, Tudor Dixon, a Republican who ran for governor against Whitmer, claimed that Clinton was simply speaking the truth during the Michigan event.
"Bill Clinton admitted that the economy is better under President Trump, which is a truth that normal people can attest to when buying groceries or school supplies," Dixon told Planet Chronicle Digital. "I'm starting to wonder if he's secretly working as a surrogate for the Trump campaign."
Clinton endorsed Harris with enthusiasm, stating that she would make a better president than Trump.
""I want to ensure that my grandchildren have the same opportunities as their mother," Clinton stated."
The Harris campaign declined to comment on a Planet Chronicle Digital request.
