'Biden's Oval Office farewell speech criticized as 'dismal'.'
Biden's speech hints at the conclusion of his 52-year political journey in Washington.
On Wednesday night, reactions from social media flooded in as President Biden delivered his final address to the nation, marking the end of his political career that spanned more than half a century.
Nancy Mace, a GOP Congresswoman, posted on X that Joe Biden's discussion of democracy, a free press, institutions, and the abuse of power in his final farewell speech was rich.
Greg Gutfeld of Planet Chronicle posted a comment on X, lamenting the end of an embarrassing and pathetic term.
"Clay Travis, a conservative commentator and radio host, criticized Joe Biden's reading ability and speaking skills on X, stating that attempting to run him for president in 2024 is a reckless and indefensible decision."
Gabriella Hoffman, Independent Women's Forum Center for Energy & Conservation director, expressed her disappointment with President Joe Biden's Farewell Address, stating that it was uninspiring and polarizing.
"I am relieved that Mr. Biden's four-year term is coming to an end. Despite his efforts, he failed to unite Americans and implemented harmful policies that weakened us in various areas, including energy, national security, economics/small business, foreign affairs, and general freedoms. History will not look kindly on his presidency, as he is now the least popular U.S. President in history."
""GOP Sen. Markwayne Mullin criticizes Joe Biden for prioritizing climate hysteria over actual priorities, such as border security, lowering costs, and peace through strength, and suggests that they never learn," X."
GOP Congressman Darrell Issa criticized Joe Biden's departure from office, stating that he left in the same manner as he arrived: with a lack of integrity and partisanship.
"Former Democrat adviser Dan Turrentine posted on X, expressing his astonishment at the President's farewell address. While not a historian, he believes it to be the darkest in recent memory. He sees it as more of a call to action for the DNC than a positive message to the country. He finds it saddening."
""Red State writer Bonchie criticized Biden's farewell speech, stating that it was reminiscent of a third-world communist dictatorship and may be the worst in presidential history," X reported."
Democrats, however, generally had a decidedly different take.
In the midst of a pandemic four years ago, we required a leader with the integrity to prioritize doing what was right over political considerations, as former President Barack Obama stated on X.
"Joe Biden led the world's strongest economic recovery during a challenging time, with 17 million new jobs, wage gains, and lower healthcare costs. He passed landmark legislation to rebuild the nation's infrastructure and tackle climate change. I am thankful for his leadership, friendship, and a lifetime of service to our beloved country."
X commentator Harry Sisson stated that President Biden delivered his best speech yet.
"President Biden's farewell address was incredibly moving. I will always be grateful for his talented administration and the service of everyone who worked with him. Thank you to all who contributed to America's success during his time in office."
Biden's speech will take place on the final four days of his presidency, before President-elect Trump is inaugurated on Monday.
In his opening remarks, Biden announced that his administration had reached a cease fire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, after eight months of nonstop negotiation. He took credit for the recent announcement, having laid out the details of the deal in May of this year.
The plan, which was created and agreed upon by my team, will mostly be executed by the new administration. As such, I instructed my team to keep the incoming administration fully informed, as it is essential to work together as Americans.
Biden's speech emphasized the American dream and the central idea that "all of us are created equal."
The Statue of Liberty, a gift from France after our civil war, was built by many people from every background and around the world. Like America, it is not standing still and its foot steps forward atop a broken chain of human bondage, symbolizing its progress and movement.
A land of pioneers and explorers, of dreamers and doers, of native and immigrant ancestors. A nation built on the idea of equality, where all are treated with dignity, justice, and fairness. Democracy is the driving force behind our rights, freedoms, and dreams.
