Before the anniversary of the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, Biden was questioned about whether he still considered Trump a danger to democracy.

Biden intends to visit New Orleans on Monday to console the families of the victims and interact with officials following the New Year's Day terrorist attack in the city.
"I've experienced that. There's nothing you can truly say to someone who has suffered such a devastating loss. And my message will be tailored to them," he stated. "All they need to do is hold onto each other and one day, when they remember their loved one, they will smile before a tear falls."
After the tragic incident on Bourbon Street, where 14 people were killed and dozens were injured, a visit will take place. The perpetrator, 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, rammed a rented pickup truck into pedestrians and was later shot dead by police after opening fire on them.
Biden stated that there was no evidence of conspiracies involving other individuals in the attack on New Orleans, and that the investigation had proven beyond a reasonable doubt that New Orleans acted alone.
"Biden stated that the individual had mental health issues, which he believed were his own, and acted similarly to what occurred in Las Vegas. However, there is no evidence to suggest that these individuals were foreigners who entered the country illegally, but rather those who worked and stayed here."
