Biden criticized for predicting oligarchy despite ties to wealthy individuals.
Earlier this month, billionaire George Soros was bestowed with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Biden.
Conservatives on social media criticized President Biden after he warned in his final speech of an "oligarchy forming in America."
"In his farewell speech on Wednesday night, Biden warned the country about the dangers of the concentration of power in the hands of a few ultrawealthy people. He stated that this concentration of power is dangerous and could lead to extreme consequences if left unchecked. Biden emphasized that an oligarchy is taking shape in America, with extreme wealth, power, and influence that threatens our democracy, basic rights, and freedoms, as well as the opportunity for everyone to succeed."
"The consequences are evident throughout America, as we have witnessed them before."
Conservatives on social media swiftly responded to that remark with criticism, highlighting the billionaires that Biden has associated with, such as liberal megadonor George Soros, who he recently honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Last year, several billionaires contributed to President Biden's re-election campaign, including Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs, and Alphabet Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, as reported by Planet Chronicle Digital.
"Nancy Mace, a GOP Congresswoman, criticized Joe Biden's farewell speech for attacking American citizens rather than addressing global issues such as Iran, China, and the wars he helped create."
Joe Biden's final farewell speech discussing democracy, a free press, institutions, and the abuse of power is rich.
Matt Walsh, a conservative commentator, posted on X that Joe Biden, who recently awarded the Medal of Freedom to George Soros and gave his own son a free pass for any federal crimes he committed over the past decade, now wants you to know that oligarchies are bad.
Drew Holden, American Compass managing editor, posted on X that Biden, an opponent of the wealthy and powerful, recently awarded the nation's highest civilian honor to George Soros, Hillary Clinton, Ralph Lauren (worth $11 billion), and Magic Johnson (worth $1.6 billion).
"The oligarchy warning from Biden rings hollow, as he leads a party backed by billionaires," former White House correspondent Ron Fournier wrote on X. "The truth is that the wealthy class controls both halves of the corrupt duopoly."
Despite their own reliance on wealthy donors, Biden warns about the concentration of power in the hands of a few wealthy people.
The White House did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
