Biden criticized for awarding Soros Medal of Freedom to crime victims: "Disgusting"

The award of the Medal of Freedom to progressive donor George Soros by President Biden has been met with criticism on social media and from a crime expert who spoke to Planet Chronicle Digital.

George Soros was awarded the Medal of Freedom by President Biden, despite his promotion of policies and politicians that have harmed citizens and crime victims, according to Zack Smith, Heritage Foundation legal fellow and co-author of "Rogue Prosecutors: How Radical Soros Lawyers Are Destroying America's Communities," who spoke to Planet Chronicle Digital after the ceremony.

"Soros has been a significant contributor to far-left politicians and has advocated for policies that weaken the rule of law in our country. Biden's support of these policies and Soros's funding have raised concerns that this is merely an attempt to please one of the Left's largest donors (and his family). This undermines the integrity of the award and further alienates everyday Americans from the current Administration's actions."

The White House announced that the award, the nation's highest civilian honor, is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public, or private endeavors.

Since 1984, Soros, a prominent Democrat donor, has given over $32 billion to his Open Society Foundations, which supports candidates worldwide who share his progressive agenda.

The White House stated that Soros' global philanthropy has fortified democracy, human rights, education, and social justice.

Conservatives on social media argued that awarding the medal to Soros would send the wrong message because of the alleged impact of Soros-backed policies on crime.

GOP Sen. Tom Cotton posted on X that police officers should receive the Medal of Freedom for confronting violent criminals released by Soros prosecutors.

"Marina Medvin, a conservative lawyer, posted on X that George Soros is responsible for the breakdown of American society. His goal is the destruction of the West, and he supports illegal immigrants, Antifa, Palestinian terror enthusiasts, campus disrupters, among others. Despite this, Biden has given Soros the highest civilian honor."

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Space X, criticized Biden's decision to award the Medal of Freedom to George Soros.

Political commentator Richie Greenberg, who led the effort to recall Soros-backed San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin from office, stated that a clear sign that Joe Biden had lost his mind or was not in control was awarding George Soros a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

"Soros has earned the title of criminal justice arch-nemesis, which is a slap to the countless victims of crime enabled by Soros DAs. This is truly disgusting."

The White House and Open Society Foundations did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry.

On Saturday, the Medal of Freedom was given to Hillary Clinton, who served as Secretary of State, causing conservative outrage similar to that of the award given to Barack Obama.

In a career spanning decades, Clinton made history as the first female senator from New York and the first first lady to hold elected office.
