Biden and Harris launch a full offensive against Trump, linking him to Project 2025.
Amid Trump's efforts to distance himself from the Heritage Foundation's initiative and the scrutiny facing Biden, the effort comes.
President Biden and Vice President Harris are countering criticism urging the president to abandon his plans for a 2024 presidential run by launching a comprehensive campaign to link former President Trump to the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 blueprint.
Amid Trump's efforts to distance himself from Project 2025, a highly scrutinized initiative that's been portrayed as a blueprint for a future Republican administration to restructure many parts of the U.S. government, Trump has described elements of the plan as "ridiculous" and "abysmal."
Biden is facing pressure from his own party to drop out of the presidential race after a poor performance in the first debate.
Biden campaign spokeswoman Sarafina Chitika stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that Donald Trump's Project 2025 team is composed of the same extremists who assisted him in restricting women's rights, deporting Latinos, and eroding our democracy during his first term.
"If Trump wins the election, his allies will work tirelessly to enact his agenda of banning abortion, cutting social security and medicare, and establishing a dictatorship. Trump and Project 2025 are synonymous, and voters will ensure they both lose in November."
The individuals who created "Trump's Project 2025 team" in 2023 largely had previous roles within the former president's administration, including Paul Dans, who directed the project and served as Trump's White House Liaison to the Office of Personnel Management.
The initiative was constructed by associates of Dans, with Spencer Chretien and Troup Hemenway serving as a special assistant to Trump and in the Presidential Personnel Office. In fact, 81% of individuals who worked on the initiative held formal roles within the Trump administration, and some current aides have also assisted with the project.
Biden and Harris' campaign trail rhetoric has shifted focus to the project as a winning message to moderate swing state voters who could decide the election, not just as a likely distraction from the pressure facing Biden.
In a second term, Trump's advisers have created a 900-page blueprint, known as 'Project 2025,' detailing their plans to cut Social Security, repeal the $35 cap on insulin, eliminate the Department of Education, and end programs like Head Start, as Harris stated at a campaign stop in Nevada on Tuesday.
The Supreme Court has ruled that a president has substantial immunity from prosecution for official acts committed while in office, allowing Donald Trump to effectively turn our democracy into a dictatorship, according to her later statement.
Last week, Trump rejected Project 2025 in a Truth Social post, stating that he was unaware of the group behind the initiative, which provides recommendations for a future Republican president to implement conservative changes upon taking office, such as reforming the Justice Department and FBI, and addressing contentious issues like abortion and immigration.
"I am not familiar with Project 2025 and do not know who is responsible for it. I disagree with some of their statements and find them to be unreasonable and unacceptable. Although I wish them success, I have no involvement in their activities."
On Thursday, the Trump campaign refuted any claims linking him to Project 2025, stating that only Agenda 47 and his RNC Platform were the policies he supported for a second term.
"The DNC and Team Biden are resorting to lying and fear-mongering because they lack any substantial proposals to benefit the American people. This is the same group that deceived Americans about Joe Biden's cognitive abilities and concealed his decline for years."
