Americans are invited by RFK Jr. to propose policies for the new Trump administration: "The transition team is yours."
"Our medical society is the most advanced in history, yet we are the sickest country. This is a contradiction," said the nominated doctor on the platform.
After winning the presidency, the new administration is forming quickly, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is asking ordinary Americans for suggestions on policies and people to be put in place.
Kennedy supporters established a website called "Policies for the People" where individuals can propose, suggest, and vote for the leaders and policies they desire from the Trump administration.
Kennedy's 2024 campaign director, Amaryllis Fox, tweeted that "President Trump and RFK want your policy proposals" and that "the MAGA x MAHA [Make America Healthy Again] transition team belongs to YOU."
The website claims that the recommendations will assist in filling the more than 4,000 appointments throughout the executive branch.
"President Trump has appointed Bobby Kennedy to a leadership role on his transition team to help "drain the swamp." However, Bobby recognizes that he cannot do this alone and is seeking the guidance of his supporters and the broader community."
The MAGA/MAHA transition team will differ from past presidents' backroom deals by directly incorporating the views of the people.
On the website, there are over a dozen categories, including "America's health," education, the economy, and the environment. Users can register and propose a policy or person for an executive branch role. The nominees with the most votes from users will be at the top of the suggested list.
Over 70,500 individuals have registered on the site and nearly 10,500 policy suggestions have been submitted. Suggestions for the new administration's nominees encompass various departments, including Defense, national intelligence, and health.
Mark Gorton, a New York-based executive and Kennedy ally, is a driving force behind the website. He told Planet Chronicle Digital that the Policies for the People platform aims to increase American participation in the political decision-making process beyond voting.
The platform has the potential to aid not only the Trump administration but could also be utilized by state and local governments to comprehend the worries of their citizens.
"We previously relied heavily on lobbyists for government interaction and Congressional bills, with many of them written entirely by lobbyists. Now, we aim to create a crowdsource tool for government officials to reduce their dependence on lobbyists."
Gorton, like Kennedy, prioritizes health policy and shares concerns about corruption within government agencies such as the FDA and CDC, which he believes have conflicts of interest with the companies they regulate. He chaired the "American Values" political action committee that supported Kennedy's presidential run until he dropped out to endorse Trump in August.
"If you vote, you've fulfilled your civic duty. In a healthier democracy, citizens are more active and engaged, not only voting but also participating in targeted oversight," he stated. "We can create systems that are different and free from conflicts of interest, with insiders and outsiders working together."
Gorton believes that the Policies for the People platform can help to accomplish the goal of taking back control of health regulatory agencies and making them work for the American people.
While it's easy to make a grand statement, it's a whole different ball game to break down each agency's intricacies and tackle the specifics of fixing the system. That's where a large, collaborative group of individuals can be particularly helpful.
Avik Roy, a seasoned Republican health policy advisor, believes the Policies for the People platform is a "terrific idea."
"He stated that transitions are often exclusive to insiders, and therefore, it is important to make them more accessible to highly qualified individuals who are not already connected to Washington."
Roy expressed his biggest concern regarding health in the U.S. as FDA regulation hindering innovation, which in turn makes treatments and medicine more expensive for Americans.
Dr. Charles Fagenholz, a holistic health practitioner and popular online forum moderator, believes that the changes being discussed by Trump and Kennedy are necessary and will have a significant impact on American health, including ending chronic disease, ADHD, and learning deficit disorders among children.
"We are the most advanced medical society in history, yet we are the sickest country. This is an obscenity," he stated.
He stated that while individuals can take steps to improve their health, such as consuming organic food, drinking spring water, and exercising, a significant change is required at the government level.
Kennedy agrees with him that government agencies, including the FDA, are corrupt and that the American food supply, filled with harmful chemicals and pesticides, is the biggest health concern for Americans.
""The foods that people consume are harmful, and the three-letter agencies are responsible for this," he stated. "Removing additives like high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, and dyes from our food will improve our health as a nation," he added."
He stated that he would be pleased to provide guidance to the new administration on health policy, as he believes that "we have four years to accomplish as much as possible, so full speed ahead."
