After his election loss, Harris takes a break from the public eye and goes on vacation in Hawaii.
Biden judges could still be confirmed with Harris's involvement.
Since losing the election to President-elect Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris has been vacationing in Hawaii with second gentleman Doug Emhoff.
Harris traveled to Kalaoa, Hawaii, on Tuesday for a weeklong vacation, a brief respite from her demanding campaign schedule and her role as vice president, which includes maintaining her tie-breaking vote as president of the Senate until the end of President Biden's term.
The vice president's trip timing has sparked questions, with some DNC staffers uncertain about their futures and others taken aback by sudden layoffs.
During a Thursday briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended Vice President Kamala Harris' vacation, stating that there was nothing "incorrect" about her taking time off.
Jean-Pierre stated that he believes the vice president deserves some time off to spend with her family and have some downtime after working hard for the past four years.
According to an NBC News report last week, it is still anticipated that Harris will play a pivotal role in assisting Biden in confirming several judges before the Democrats run out of time, with 234 judges confirmed during Trump's first term.
Last year, Vice President Kamala Harris set a record for casting the most decisive votes of any vice president in history, with Democrats relying on her support in the upcoming weeks as they hold a slim majority in the upper chamber.
A senior Harris aide informed NBC News that this is something they want to address.
A second senior aide confirmed that she would definitely be present for any tie votes.
A third source informed the outlet that it is a major concern.
According to the report, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., was informed that Kamala Harris would be available, although she had not spoken to Harris personally.
Warren stated that the objective is to fill as many judicial nominations as possible.
The senior Harris aide informed NBC News that the vice president had postponed her trip, anticipating the need for her in the Senate. However, most of the votes are now predicted to occur in December when she returns to Washington.
Neither the Harris campaign nor the White House responded to a Planet Chronicle Digital request for comment.
