A majority of Americans believe that President-elect Trump will control illegal immigration by implementing a historic mass deportation campaign and increasing border security measures upon taking office this month.

According to a Gallup poll released on Thursday, 68% of Americans believe that Trump will manage illegal immigration, while 28% predict that he will not.

Trump's presidential campaign centered on combating illegal immigration amid a record-breaking refugee crisis at the southern border.

After winning the election in November, he stated that we will repair our borders and make changes to our country.

Trump has pledged to execute the biggest internal expulsion campaign in American history.

The previous president has pledged to utilize the Alien Enemies Act to expel all suspected Gang Members, drug dealers, or Cartel Members from the United States and redirect law enforcement to immigration enforcement. Additionally, he intends to restart construction of a wall along the southern border, which was halted by the current administration.

Previously, Fox Digital reported on plans to increase the use of ankle monitors among those unable to be detained and the possibility of expanding immigration detention near major metropolitan areas. Trump has appointed former acting ICE Director Tom Homan as border czar and nominated South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to be the next Homeland Security secretary.

According to polls, reducing unemployment, ensuring national security, strengthening the economy, and preventing war are among the key areas where Trump may succeed.

The majority of people believe that Trump will decrease taxes, lower the crime rate, and enhance the country's global standing.

While some were convinced that Trump would improve healthcare, the environment, and heal political divisions, a majority were not as convinced, with 40% believing he would improve healthcare, 35% the environment, and 33% political divisions.

In December, a Planet Chronicle Poll revealed that more than half of voters were enthusiastic about the upcoming administration, with 54% expressing hope and 50% feeling relieved, while only 48% were excited.

The survey revealed that the economy is the most pressing concern (34%), followed by immigration and border security (21%). None of the other issues attained double digits, including abortion (7%), which was a major issue throughout the year.
