A roadmap for reducing government waste through the use of DOGE has been developed following a private meeting: 'synergy'
After the meeting, Planet Chronicle Digital interviewed co-chairs Pete Sessions and Aaron Bean.
The Congressional DOGE Caucus is refocusing its plans for reducing government waste following its second closed-door meeting on Wednesday.
Eight working groups have been established by caucus leaders to focus on different sectors for waste-cutting, with areas of focus including retirement, social and family safety nets, emergency supplemental funding, energy permitting, homeland security, defense and veterans, the workforce, and government operations, according to a document viewed by Planet Chronicle Digital.
In the 119th Congress, Aaron Bean, R-Fla., and Pete Sessions, R-Texas, urged lawmakers to present at least one bill that would improve government efficiency.
According to both sources, the caucus is planning coordinated efforts to support the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is being co-led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.
Sessions stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the goal is to have a day where legislation will be dropped and a day where we will address the American people on the floor.
Bean expounded on the idea, labeling it "DOGE Days."
""We hope to have a productive day with 20 to 30 bills and all DOGE members contributing, resulting in great teamwork, synergy, and momentum," Bean stated."
Planet Chronicle Digital obtained a copy of the survey that attendees were asked to fill out, indicating their preferred working groups.
In the private conference, politicians shared their individual proposals for reducing government excess.
Congressman Jay Obernolte, a Republican from California, advocated for a constitutional amendment that would mandate Congress to maintain a balanced federal budget.
Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., proposed ending child tax credit benefits for undocumented individuals.
Van Drew stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that currently, we are not careful enough about illegal aliens receiving a child tax credit and childcare tax credit, which is ridiculous. He emphasized that these are easy things to do and the low-hanging fruit.
Joni Ernst, a Republican senator from Iowa, who is heading the DOGE initiative in the Senate and also participated in the Wednesday House meeting, encouraged legislators to collaborate with their Senate counterparts on bipartisan legislation.
The new panel, commissioned by President-elect Trump, has been met with enthusiasm from lawmakers as it aims to recommend areas where the executive branch can reduce government waste.
The DOGE Caucus aims to enshrine Trump's cost-cutting measures into law.
Over 15,000 emails have been received through the group's email tip line, as stated by Bean and Sessions.
Bean said he was surprised but pleased at the enthusiasm.
I've received around 200 typed and handwritten letters expressing gratitude for my work, and this is a response to those who have a stake in the outcome.
