A lawmaker has once again proposed renaming an airport after Trump.
Travelers arriving in Music City may soon be greeted by Trump International Airport.
On Friday, Tennessee Republican State Rep. Todd Warner submitted House Bill 217, proposing to rename Nashville International Airport in honor of Trump.
The metropolitan airport authority would need to take actions to execute the name change as per the bill.
The new name would require actions such as setting up new signage, updating registered trademarks with the USPTO, revising all existing contracts and legal documents, and modifying references with local, state, and federal agencies.
The bill allows the airport to continue operating under its current name with the designation "Trump International Airport" during the transition period.
If passed, the bill would take effect on Jan. 1, 2026.
A lawmaker has previously attempted to rename an airport after Trump.
In April 2024, a group of House Republicans proposed renaming Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia after Trump.
The bill was introduced by Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., and six cosponsors, who serve as the House GOP's chief deputy whip.
""Our nation has never been greater than under President Donald J. Trump's leadership, as evidenced by the millions of domestic and international travelers who fly through the airport and hear 'Welcome to Trump International Airport' upon landing on American soil," Reschenthaler previously stated on Planet Chronicle Digital."
The second D.C.-area airport named for a Republican commander in chief after Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, would be George H.W. Bush Houston International Airport.
Rep. Barry Moore, R-Ala., stated that it is appropriate to honor another esteemed president in the same manner as previously done.
Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., concurred with Moore and stated, "It is only fitting to recognize our nation's greatest presidents by naming the airports in our capital after them, specifically DCA for President Reagan and Dulles for President Trump."
