Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, encouraged by President-elect Donald Trump to run in the special election for Florida's 1st Congressional District, aims to win in order to support the incoming commander-in-chief's agenda.

During an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital on Thursday, Patronis expressed his eagerness to run and support President Trump's agenda to eliminate "wokeness," which he believes has "infiltrated" government and society.

He stated that common sense is not "very prevalent" in the U.S.

If he wins the House seat, Patronis expressed interest in joining the House Freedom Caucus and stated that he would like to learn more about the group's activities, as many of them align with his own beliefs.

Washington D.C. spends money worse than the citizens of District 1, according to him.

A study has been called for by Patronis to examine the adoption of gold and silver as legal tender in the Sunshine State.

"For millennia, gold and silver have been reliable investments, making them suitable options for legal tender. I am conducting research to determine the most effective approach to implementing this," Patronis stated in a press release this week.

He stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that he hopes the study will lead to the state legislature passing legislation that permits this kind of economic freedom in Florida.

Patronis has received endorsements from House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., in addition to Trump's support.
