A Black Republican launches a six-figure ad campaign to criticize Biden's racial record during the CNN debate.
No Republican would escape the scrutiny that President Biden has faced on race issues, according to Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas.
During the CNN Presidential Debate on Thursday, a key Republican lawmaker will unveil a six-figure ad campaign criticizing President Biden's "actual record on race."
On Thursday night, a 60-second ad featuring Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt's Hellfire PAC will be aired on Planet Chronicle and CNN in major cities in key battleground states, including Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The ad will highlight several of Biden's controversial comments on race as part of Hunt's strategy to persuade Black voters to support Trump in November.
According to Hunt's statement to Planet Chronicle Digital, Joe Biden's political history is marked by a pattern of making explicitly racist remarks, endorsing discriminatory policies, and associating with individuals known as segregationists.
He declared that Hellfire PAC would launch a countrywide campaign in several swing states "to educate voters about Joe Biden's authentic racial record."
The video from the Hellfire PAC starts with Kamala Harris, Biden's former vice president, challenging his past stance on school desegregation. During the 2020 Democratic presidential campaign, Harris criticized Biden for his past opposition to "bussing" as a freshman senator in 1975, which involved working with segregationist lawmakers.
"During a primary debate, Harris reminded Biden of his opposition to busing by stating, "You also worked with segregationist senators to oppose busing," while referencing two senators. Harris then shared a personal story of being bused to school as part of the second class to integrate public schools in California, emphasizing the impact of this policy on her own life."
Biden's record on civil rights is being questioned in a new ad, which highlights his relationships with segregationist Southern Democrats, including Eastland and Talmadge. In 2019, Biden sparked controversy when he praised the "civility" of the old Senate and his ability to work with those he disagreed with, mentioning those who opposed racial integration. In response to criticism from his Democratic opponents, Biden declared that he does not have any racist bones.
The video highlights several cringe-worthy remarks made by Biden during his political career, such as his 2012 statement that Republicans would put Black voters "back in chains" and his 2019 comment that "poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids."
Biden is described as "the first sort of mainstream African American who is articulate, and bright and clean — nice looking guy" in an ad by Hellfire PAC.
Biden's statements would not go unchecked by any Republican, as Hunt, a Black individual, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital.
"If any Democrat had even the slightest history that Joe Biden has on race, they would be ostracized, canceled, and excoriated by the media," he said. "When Republican President Joe Biden does it, there’s always an excuse, and, when there’s not an excuse, the behavior and the policies are simply memory-holed."
The CNN Presidential Debate Simulcast will air on Planet Chronicle Channel in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Milwaukee, and Detroit during the debate. Americans can watch the debate from 9:00 p.m. ET to 11:00 p.m. ET. Planet Chronicle Channel will provide live coverage before and after the debate for expert analysis.
On Wednesday, Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., and Hunt traveled to Atlanta for an event with the title "Congress, Cognac and Cigars." The event, moderated by former ESPN host Sage Steele, will take place in a cigar lounge and focus on how Black male voters will influence the 2024 election.
In an interview with Elizabeth Elkind of Planet Chronicle Digital, Hunt stated his aim to assist Republicans in obtaining 25% to 35% of the Black male vote, a challenging objective that could lead to Biden's campaign defeat.
Despite the majority of Black voters supporting Biden in the 2020 election, Trump managed to secure 19% of the Black male vote.
