WATCH IT: Enormous 'neighborhood ruler' alligator saunters across the street
It is rarer to spot a larger alligator in North Carolina due to its slower growth rate in that climate.
A large alligator, known as the "king of the neighborhood," was captured on video walking down a North Carolina street.
Lana Del Rey is rumored to be dating an alligator tour guide.
Fins exclaimed in astonishment, "Wow, that's the king of the jungle right here!" He added, "Or at least the king of the neighborhood, you understand?" According to Carolina Country, gators in North Carolina grow more slowly than in other southern states, making this caught-on-camera sighting even more remarkable.
In North Carolina, alligators inhabit lakes, rivers, creeks, marshes, swamps, and ponds. However, most of them are found in coastal patches.
According to the NCWF, it is illegal in North Carolina to feed, touch, harm, harass, or poach an alligator.
The NCWF advises citizens to remain vigilant in areas where alligators have been previously sighted and to keep pets on leashes while walking.
In North Carolina, if you witness someone harassing or intentionally feeding an alligator, you can contact the Wildlife Enforcement hotline at 1-800-662-7137. Additionally, it is advised to maintain a distance of at least 50 feet from reptiles and not leave children unattended near any body of water, including beaches.
