Hamas is holding the 22-year-old American child.

For over 330 days, Hamas has held captive Omer Neutra, a 22-year-old American.

Orna and Ronen Neutra, residents of Long Island, stated that their son is well-liked by everyone.

"He notices people, pays attention, and has a great sense of humor, so he connects with many," said Orna Neutra.

Ronen Neutra said his son loves the New York Knicks.

"He knows all their stats, whether they win or lose. We hope that those numbers and the stats in his head are keeping him busy," he added. "We are 11 months in, and that's far too long."

To indicate the length of time their son has been held captive, the parents put on a new piece of duct tape on their shirts every day.

Omer Neutra turns 23 next month.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israeli American Hersh Goldberg-Polin and others have remained in captivity.

Hersh was murdered by Hamas and his death was confirmed by Goldberg-Polin's family on Sunday. The Neutra family expressed their devastation over the loss.

Ronen stated that Hamas is a group of monsters after Hersh, who had been with them for 11 months in terrible conditions, including an injury, was executed along with five other hostages.

Six hostages, including Goldberg-Polin's body, were recovered by the Israel Defense Forces.

The urgency to evacuate them intensifies as their lives are at risk daily, and we know that the terror organization poses a growing threat. Orna stated this.

At least seven American citizen hostages are believed to be in Gaza.

Unfortunately, negotiating with a terrorist organization like Hamas is impossible. It's not like we're negotiating with them; it's what they want. They're holding our children. You can't negotiate with them. It's almost like losing in advance because they're holding our precious ones so that they can set the rules of the game, as Ronen said.

Both Orna and Ronen are American-Israeli citizens who have Holocaust survivors in their families.

Ronen's grandfather was in Yugoslavia and became a member of the Jewish Partisans after being released from a factory to protect his family and resist the Nazis.

He relocated to Israel after the war and was among the few who endured.

Orna's grandfather saved his family from the Nazis and hid on the Polish border with Slovakia, she stated.

Our families were saved due to resiliency, taking action, and not waiting for things to resolve themselves. We hope that Omer embodies these qualities and is surviving.

Last month, the Republican National Convention was addressed by Orna and Ronen to raise awareness about the current situation.

A "bring them home" chant broke out among the crowd at the convention before the two speakers began their speeches.

We were deeply moved and remain so by the public's support, as Orna stated.

Since Oct. 7, Hillel International has reported a 700% increase in antisemitic incidents on college campuses worldwide, totaling 1,896 incidents.

Ronen expressed disbelief that the TikTok generation, who create brief videos, misunderstand the conflict.

Ronen urges college students to read and learn about the Gaza conflict.

If you are advocating for the destruction of Israel and the removal of the Jewish people from Israel, you are as evil as Hamas, he stated.

People who care about the Palestinian people should prioritize the release of hostages, as Orna stated.

She urged for the release of hostages, complete escalation in the region, and Hamas' surrender if one is truly concerned about the loss of life and devastation in the area.

The Neutras have been regularly communicating with the White House, but they believe more action is required until their son returns.

Ronen stated, "Each morning, we inquire, 'What actions are we taking to further our cause and bring home the hostages?'"
