Turn an abandoned bank into a new home: 'Go for it!'
The neighborhood bank, which had been closed for 12 years, remained untouched.
An old bank was transformed into a storefront and home by a couple after they completed its renovation.
Ryan Green and his longtime girlfriend bought an old, abandoned bank in the neighborhood where Green grew up with the intention of transforming it into something unique.
The property developer, who is 28 years old, stated that he and his girlfriend decided to buy the "empty shell" North Wales bank after seeing it.
He grew up in the village and has always remembered it being empty, as he detailed in a TikTok video about the process.
In a TikTok video, he stated, "We couldn't resist buying it again when it was auctioned off."
Green stated that he submitted his approximately $34,000 bid on the property at auction, but his computer malfunctioned.
"After submitting my final bid, my laptop died," he stated on TikTok.
When he turned his computer back on, he realized he'd won the auction.
Thirty days after winning the highest bid, Green received the keys to his new bank with the intention of turning it into a home for him and his girlfriend.
Green detailed the process of renovating the empty building on social media after 12 years.
As reported by SWNS, the space underwent renovations that included the installation of a new bathroom and kitchen, eight double-glazed windows, and a new roof.
During the renovation process, seventy-five percent of the walls in the space were taken down.
Green stated, according to SWNS, that the property required a new ceiling, heating system, electrical wiring, and a fire alarm as it was merely an empty shell.
The TikTok user, who is a homeowner, mentioned that the space had numerous problems and that it took time to make it habitable.
Six months and $65,000 later, Green and his girlfriend were able to move into their new two-bedroom apartment while keeping the original bank safe and doors in their space.
Green revealed to Planet Chronicle Digital that the property is a home interior store in the front half, and it is a side business he and his girlfriend started. The apartment is located in the back.
The couple has vacated the property and is currently working on renovating a set of apartments close to the shore.
Green intends to revitalize a 12-acre farm by establishing a glamping resort, featuring animals, barn conversions, and other amenities.
For the past three and a half years, he has been renovating properties, with the ultimate aim of using the profits from his other ventures to establish a dog rescue sanctuary.
