John Schneider, known for his role in 'Dukes of Hazzard,' remains steadfast in his belief: "God has a plan."
A multitalented celebrity declares his belief in divine intervention.
John Schneider, renowned for portraying Bo Duke on "Dukes of Hazzard," possesses a range of acting abilities beyond that of a Southern charmer.
The popular TV series featuring two handsome Southern cousins in a small-town setting catapulted actors John Schneider and Tom Wopat to fame and adoration among young viewers.
Despite this, Schneider maintains that God has always been in control of his life.
Schneider stated, "I believe we were uniquely created to fulfill a specific purpose because God has a grand plan that we are a part of."
In a recent episode of "Lighthouse Faith" podcast, Schneider discussed the highs and lows of life, including both sorrows and happiness.
He remained faithful to the beliefs he thought God had intended for him.
From the start, Schneider felt that he was meant to be in the film industry, inspired by watching movies and John Wayne on the big screen in Mount Kisco.
By the time he auditioned for "Dukes of Hazzard" at 18 years old, he'd already been working in theater for a decade.
Schneider, originally from Mt. Kisco, New York, relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, due to his mother's job transfer.
He became involved in theater at a young age.
At 18 years old, he auditioned for "Dukes of Hazzard" after a decade of experience in theater.
"Dukes" ran from 1979 to 1985.
"Dallas" was the only television series to rank higher than it in the ratings at one time.
"When you have any skill, the industry is always surprised."
Schneider, now 64, struggled to shake off the "Bo Duke" persona.
He had to demonstrate his acting and singing abilities once more.
Because I was famous, 10 doors were slammed in my face for every open door, as Schneider stated.
He stated, "The industry generally views celebrities as the luckiest individuals in the room, with little talent required. However, when someone possesses skill, the industry is always taken aback."
In addition to starring in "Smallville," Schneider portrayed Superman's father on TV.
As a singer, he released some 20 albums and starred on Broadway.
Currently, until February 2nd, he is appearing in the longest-running Broadway show, "The Perfect Crime," a whodunit mystery.
His co-star, Catherine Russell, is also the show's producer.
At Sardi's restaurant, she praised Schneider's abilities while presenting him with an iconic caricature during the event.
"You are hands-down the best person who's ever played the role."
Russell directly told Schneider, "I've been performing this play for 38 years, and many actors have played this part. However, you are undoubtedly the best person to have ever played the role."
Schneider reflects on his life of opportunity, but he doesn't avoid discussing the trauma of losing his wife Alicia to cancer two years ago.

Together, they have learned to trust in God's plan.
"God's plan involves all of us having a role to play, not just John Schneider's plan," said Schneider.
He stated, 'You all have something to do there, so pay attention to one another, because it's like the perfect crime. All of the clues are there.'
