Trump confidant and unofficial spiritual advisor: "God is granting America another opportunity"
Pastor Robert Jeffress of Texas expresses his belief that Trump will restore hope to the nation.
Just before President Donald Trump's second inauguration, Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas expressed his gratitude to God for Trump's re-election and his optimism for the country's future.
According to a faith leader in an on-camera interview, most evangelicals, conservative Catholics, and conservative Jews feel relieved and grateful to God about President Trump's re-election. (See the video at the top of this article.)
"According to Jeffress, there is a strong belief that the US has been declining over the past four years, primarily due to abandoning its Judeo-Christian roots. Many people view Trump's re-election as a divine intervention, offering America one final opportunity to reverse its downward trend."
"Over the past four years, our country has been plagued by issues that have caused confusion," he stated.
"Our support for Israel is wavering, while our embrace of the transgender agenda confuses our children. Additionally, our extreme environmental positions may have contributed to some of the disasters we're seeing."
President Trump's upcoming return to the White House has given people of faith hope, despite their previous lamentations about the causes of their faith.
The pastor will participate in some inauguration events, but he cannot reveal the details beforehand.
Jeffress stated that he hopes all Americans will follow the Bible and pray for those in authority and governing positions in the country.
"We pray for all leaders."
"Some viewers and readers may be questioning my sincerity, asking, 'Pastor, are you a hypocrite? Would you have said the same thing about Joe Biden?'" Jeffress responded. "In fact, I wrote an op-ed for Planet Chronicle following Biden's election, stating that while we may lament his election, we must adhere to the Bible and pray for him."
Jeffress added to Planet Chronicle Digital: 'The Bible teaches us not to choose whom we pray for. We pray for all leaders. And I would remind people that if Trump succeeds in his agenda, which I believe he will, then America as a whole benefits, not just Republicans but everyone.'
I've had a 10-year friendship with President Trump, and I recently spoke to him. I plan to speak to him again next week, and I truly believe he desires to bring this country together.
Jeffress stated that people will be surprised by the unity he creates in our country, even though not everyone will agree with every policy he initiates, they will see that he has the country's best interests at heart.
Jeffress stated that he does not have an official faith advisory role, but rather an informal friendship with President Trump that he has cherished for the past 10 years. He added, "I just like President Trump, he's a very likable person, and I can tell you, he loves our country."
"He loves America and wants what's best for our country."
He stated that "there's no rational explanation for him to abandon a comfortable existence in order to undertake such perilous actions, having put his life at risk twice in recent months. He does this out of devotion to America and the desire to promote the welfare of our nation.
"I believe Americans should be able to follow any individual who possesses such strong patriotism."
Jeffress stated that America's greatness comes from our goodness, and the Bible teaches that the only goodness we can possess is through our right relationship with God. He hopes that the Trump administration will begin the new year with a renewed commitment to follow God, and that God's blessings will ensure the success of the nation.
‘Gracious and powerful God'
Jeffress acknowledged the significance of recognizing the struggles and challenges, particularly the fires in Los Angeles and the devastation they have caused.
In the case of tragedies, it is natural for individuals to inquire about the "why" of such events. However, he suggested that this question may be unanswerable. Instead, we should focus on the "who" question, which is more relevant to understanding the world's chaos.
Jeffress shared an example from his own life.
Recently, my wife, Amy, and I were driving in the night, in the middle of West Texas, during a heavy rainstorm when our headlights failed and went out. As a result, we were driving in the darkness.
"Despite not being able to see six inches in front of me, I spotted an 18-wheeler behind me and slowed down to let it pass. Once it was in front of me, I focused on its taillights and followed it into the nearest town."
"Never forget God is love."
"When we are in a state of confusion and suffering, we often ponder why such events occur. According to Jeffress, there are three aspects of God that we can concentrate on during these times. Firstly, God is loving. Scripture states that God is near to the brokenhearted. It is crucial to remember that God is love."
God's sovereignty means He is in control and nothing catches Him off guard.
"In conclusion, God possesses the strength to transform the most challenging circumstances into opportunities for our benefit. As the apostle Paul stated, "God orchestrates everything to bring about good outcomes.""
"God's love for us does not guarantee that everything that happens to us will be good, but His grace and power enable Him to transform the worst things in our lives, such as a fire, a flood, the end of a relationship, or an illness, into opportunities for our growth and prosperity."
When we focus on God's truths during difficult times, He will safely guide us through the storm.
