The number of prayers for former President Donald Trump on the Hallow app increased following the assassination attempt.
Alex Jones, co-founder of Hallow, stated, "Praying together as one is something we can all do."
The Hallow prayer app's personalized devotional campaigns have experienced an increase in usage following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, according to its co-founder and CEO, who spoke to Planet Chronicle Digital on Monday.
On Monday, CEO Alex Jones announced the launch of a new feature in the app called prayer campaigns just before the July 4th weekend in an email to Planet Chronicle Digital.
"The aim was to enable individuals to unite in prayer and establish particular initiatives for their individual aspirations and objectives."
So far, Jones has been blown away by the response.
Since its launch in 2018, the Hallow app has been downloaded more than 20 million times, with thousands of campaigns created by people worldwide for various reasons, including those who have lost loved ones, young children who are sick, and individuals exploring religious life, among others, as noted by Jones.
Following the assassination attempt on Trump during his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Hallow reported that there were numerous prayer campaigns initiated by individuals across the country to pray for his well-being, the safety of his family, the victims, and the nation as a whole, according to Jones.
Matthew Norton created a "Novena for Healing" titled "Pray for Donald Trump and victims."
Actor Jonathan Roumie, known for his role as Jesus Christ in "The Chosen," leads daily prayer sessions during a nine-day campaign.
Another Hallow user, Glenn Smith, launched a "Prayers for Peace" campaign titled "For Former President Donald Trump." In his four-day campaign, Smith encouraged others to join him in praying for Trump.
Smith wrote that while you don't have to back him politically, we should all pray for him and hope no more harm comes to any political figure.
Another notable campaign is Marcus Luttrell's "Prayers for Our Country."
On Sunday, the three-day campaign was developed by a retired U.S. Navy SEAL whose experiences fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan during "Operation Red Wings" served as the basis for the 2013 film "Lone Survivor."
As of Monday morning, over 41,000 Hallow users joined the campaign.
"May God bless our country, as well as President Trump …"
Despite the campaign's request for prayers for "our fallen and their families, for our veterans and for our country," some of those who expressed support in its comments mentioned Trump.
"Please watch over President Trump," Andrea Connors wrote.
Norma McGuire prayed for God's blessings on the country, President Trump, and protection from the evil threatening to seize control.
Stephen Spiewak, Hallow spokesman, stated that the app is intended to be "apolitical" and provides a "break" from politics. However, he acknowledged that the assassination attempt has brought Hallow users together, regardless of their political beliefs.
Mark Wahlberg, an Oscar-nominated actor who played Luttrell in "Lone Survivor," is a spokesperson for the Hallow app and appeared in a 30-second TV commercial that aired in select markets during the 2021 Super Bowl.
In the history of the Chicago-based company, Hallow had the most single-day downloads three days later, according to Spiewak.
It coincided with Ash Wednesday.
The Hallow app is still expanding with its latest ideation, as stated by Jones.
Jones stated that there are tens of thousands of people who have joined these campaigns and the number is growing daily.
Jones' belief in "the power of prayer" is further strengthened for him.
Jones stated that the product has the potential to transform the world, save lives, mend wounds, and unite people, even in a world that is constantly seeking to divide.
"Despite our differing political beliefs, we can unite in prayer."
