1. No digging holes
Digging a hole in the sand is a common beach activity.
Be cautious of your location before digging, as it is illegal to do so at certain beaches.
In Delaware, it is illegal to dig a large hole in the sand at Bethany Beach. In South Carolina, at Myrtle Beach, digging a hole deeper than two feet with a shovel is prohibited. If you dig a hole, you must fill it back up before leaving.
The use of metal shovels to dig is also prohibited here.
2. Keep sand on the beach
At many U.S. beaches, taking sand is acceptable, but at others, it is not.
Before taking sand from Horry County beaches in South Carolina, it's important to verify the local law.
Since 1956, Horry County beaches have been subject to this law, as reported by Myrtle Beach Sun News.
3. Under 17? No pinball-playing allowed
The legal age for gambling in casinos varies; it's 18 for some and 21 for others.
In South Carolina, playing pinball also has age restrictions.
It is illegal to play the game if you are under 18 in the state.
4. Singing and swimsuits do not mix
Visiting Florida for a beach-filled getaway? Keep your singing to a minimum.
It's illegal to sing in a swimsuit while strolling along the beach in the state.
Although not frequently enforced, the unusual law technically remains in effect.
5. You won’t find any oranges around Miami Beach
You won't find an orange near the beach while on vacation in Miami.
It’s against the law to sell oranges on the sidewalk.
Individuals could face 30 days in jail for doing so.
6. No Frisbee throwing
At many beaches, it is forbidden to throw a football or Frisbee around.
Two examples are Ocean City, Maryland, and Bethany Beach, Delaware.
Most of your beach day, you cannot throw balls or Frisbees at either of these locations.
