Rev. Franklin Graham and others say that God's hand of protection was on Trump during the shooting.
'Our nation and we as individuals have no hope except for God.'
Rev. Franklin Graham, CEO of Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, stated in exclusive comments to Planet Chronicle Digital that he is grateful for God's protection of former President Donald Trump during the assassination attempt on Saturday evening at his Pennsylvania rally.
"All of this reminds us of the importance of prayer today and in the days ahead," he added.
The Secret Service shielded Trump on stage after gunfire erupted. He gave the crowd a fist bump before being escorted offstage. He was later declared safe at a medical facility.
As one of his sons noted, Donald Trump has given his all to fight for America, including sacrificing his time, energy, and finances. Despite having blood running down his face, he left a rally urging the crowd to continue the struggle for America.
On Planet Chronicle Digital, he stated, "As Christians, our strongest weapon is prayer. God is the only hope for our country and for us personally."
Graham stated that we also pray for the family of the attendee who tragically passed away and for those who sustained serious injuries.
Other faith leaders and pastors from across the country have also expressed their thoughts and prayers for the former president and those affected by the violence in Butler, Pennsylvania, as reported by Planet Chronicle Digital.
‘Sign of a divided nation’
On Saturday evening, via email to Planet Chronicle Digital, Jonathan Cahn, a New York Times bestselling author based in New York City, stated that the shooting of President Trump was horrific, shocking, and not surprising, as it is a reflection of the division in our nation.
According to Scripture, such acts of bloodshed are a sign of a nation in danger. We must pray for the victims, their families, for Donald Trump, and for America, said Cahn.
Cahn's upcoming book is titled "The Dragon's Prophecy: Israel, the Dark Resurrection, and the End of Days."
‘Turn to our Creator’
Alex McFarland, the founder and president of Alex McFarland Ministries in Greensboro, North Carolina, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital, "While it may seem simple to express our support and prayers for President Trump, it is truly felt."
It is imperative for us to read the signs of the times and take action to repent of our sins and change our ways.
"These moments remind us to turn to our Creator and Redeemer for the sake of our families, our country, and its leaders."
‘God have mercy’
President Trump has survived an attack from a hateful group without divine beliefs, as shared by Katy Talento, executive director of The Alliance of Health Care Sharing Ministries in Washington, D.C.
Our hearts grieve for the country, yet soar at his defiance in the face of evil. God have mercy.
‘Rededicate ourselves to turning’ things around
Craig Huey, a speaker, commentator, and author from Nashville, Tennessee, stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that America must pray for President Trump and his family, as well as the innocent victim who was killed at the Trump rally. He emphasized the need for us to recommit to transforming our culture and politics.
On Sunday, churches across America should call for repentance and express gratitude that Trump survived the assassination attempt.
