Renovated 1800s train station, now an 'enchanting' home up for sale.
The railroad station operated for a century, commencing in 1863.
A Victorian-era train station has been converted into a residence and a hotel, and is now available for purchase on the real estate market.
In 2002, Lisa and Steve Rawlings bought the former Coalport Station to escape the city's chaos and find a peaceful retreat.
At the time, the property had no trains or track and was overgrown with weeds and shrubs, as Steve Rawlings informed SWNS.
"From the moment we set foot on this property, we knew it was the ideal getaway. As we spent more time there, our vision for it became increasingly clear," he stated.
The 1863 property in Shropshire, England, houses two railroad carriages that serve as a hotel for the couple.
Over the years, Steve Rawlings stated that tourists have embraced the idea. He added that one group of visitors has remained there a remarkable 15 times.
Over the years, we have hosted approximately 2,000 bookings, as estimated.
He mentioned that he and his wife are selling their property because of her health issues.
He revealed that they were selling their home solely due to Lisa's health and needed a space with lifts or a bungalow, referencing his wife.
Rawlings expressed regret about departing from the distinctive location but stated that he and his spouse would remain in the region because the town embodies an "old-fashioned way of living — something we treasure."
The Ironbridge Gorge and Shropshire Hills, both significant tourist attractions, are located near the historic location.
According to SWNS, the main house has three bedrooms and three reception rooms, along with a waiting room that serves as an office.
The two vintage Great Western Mark 1 carriages, dating back to the 1960s, can be accessed through the original train station platforms located in front of the main house.
While one carriage has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area, and a kitchen, the other offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen, according to SWNS.
The property is currently being marketed by Berriman Eaton for approximately $1.1 million.
