If we have faith, we can receive 5 blessings from God, says Washington pastor.
The letter to the Ephesians from St. Paul contains five blessings that God desires for humanity.
Be mindful of your actions, not recklessly, but with wisdom, taking advantage of the opportunities that come your way. Do not remain ignorant, but seek to discern the will of the Lord. Be filled with the Spirit, singing and playing to the Lord with gratitude in your hearts, always giving thanks in the name of Jesus Christ to God the Father.
The verses in St. Paul's letter to the Ephesians, written to the people living in modern-day Turkey, are found on the Bible Study Tools website.
Pastor Jesse Bradley of Washington stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that the specific Bible passage contains five blessings that God desires to bestow upon humanity, in order to fulfill the purpose of being "filled instead of empty."
Bradley is the founder of Just Choose Hope and the lead pastor at Grace Community Church in Auburn, near Seattle.
"In a culture that values accomplishment, it's easy to overlook the significance of receiving from God," he stated. "If we remain with Jesus, we will produce abundant fruit and resemble him."
The 5 blessings to know
The Holy Spirit, or the presence of God, is the first blessing, Bradley stated.
He stated that when one chooses to follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit resides within them.
"Living the Christian life requires supernatural power; we can't do it through our own strength alone."
Although some people may believe otherwise, Bradley stated, "We remain dependent on God every day," he said. "The Holy Spirit brings us peace, love, and joy that the world cannot take away."
He mentioned that wisdom, courage, words, and gratitude are other blessings in the verse.
Knowledge and wisdom are not the same, Bradley pointed out.
"While knowledge consists of information, wisdom brings about change. Wisdom involves using knowledge to make practical decisions in life," he stated.
"God bestows wisdom on those who seek and honor Him."
Bradley stated that "God is with us and goes ahead of us to prepare the way."
"God has created you as a masterpiece and has already placed opportunities along your path. Your time, talent, and treasure are significant."
In difficult circumstances, Bradley advised seeking God's courage to make the right choice and leaving the outcome in His hands.
As a believer, Bradley emphasized the importance of speaking with love and truth and working to uplift others in daily life.
He remarked, "Your tongue is like a rudder guiding a large vessel."
"Jesus knocks on the door, so let Him in, and words will flow from your heart."
"Words have the power to bring life or cause incredible amounts of damage."
Sing to the Lord, and God will fill your conversations with His salt and light.
Expressing gratitude is a blessing, Bradley stated, and it is wise to thank God in every circumstance.
Gratitude that is tough and sincere knows how to express thanks even when it's difficult. Complaints, rumors, slander, and negativity are not from God.
Our Father above is the source of every blessing, and we should praise Him. People who are thankful and reject bitterness and resentment are inspiring.
Bradley stated that humanity should trust God and that we are built to provide and receive hope on a daily basis.
"Receive from God until you are overflowing," he advised.
"An infinite and indestructible hope from Jesus awaits us. Drink deeply from the well that never runs dry."
