Motorcycle manufacturer announces discontinuation of DEI functions, emphasizes commitment to maintaining customer base.
On Monday, Harley-Davidson issued a statement renouncing DEI and other contentious initiatives, following social-media backlash and intense pressure from devoted bikers.

"We will concentrate solely on expanding the motorcycling sport and maintaining our devoted riding community, while continuing to offer assistance to first responders, active military members, and veterans."
The veteran expressed skepticism about the bike maker's long-overdue apology, despite feeling that it was a necessary step.
According to Jesse Clay, a former U.S. Navy SEAL and longtime Harley-Davidson rider from Colorado, the change was unnecessary and should not have occurred.

For years, longtime Harley-Davidson customers, including hard-core bikers, have complained that the Milwaukee-based company exploited them to build its "bad--s" brand and then neglected them as the motorcycle's popularity grew among upscale riders.
In July, Harley's simmering dissatisfaction erupted when social-media influencer Robby Starbuck exposed several internal woke policies.
Starbuck, based in California, celebrated Harley's announcement on Monday.

John Deere and Tractor Supply Co. have made policy changes in response to recent efforts by Starbucks to highlight leftist corporate initiatives.
Starbuck replied to the criticism: "Although they may be disappointed, we have achieved the desired changes, but we still want the CEO [Jochen Zeitz] removed," he stated.
"He is a devoted follower, and we will closely monitor their private affairs. In his exclusive social circles, this action will not be well-received. His life does not involve motorcycles. This statement seems like a corporate resolution rather than his personal choice. I would be astonished if he was content with this decision."
In addition to its statement, Harley-Davidson was also contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital for comment.
