Grandpa's arrival brings excitement to toddler, who gains attention on TikTok.

A toddler and his grandfather are spreading smiles on social media after their bond was showcased in a mashup video that received almost one million views on TikTok.

Brooks Vanhoy, the 2-year-old grandson, has a close relationship with his grandfather, lovingly known as "Bop."

Shelby Vanhoy, Brooks' mom, revealed via email to Planet Chronicle Digital that her family relocated from New York City to North Carolina to be nearer to their family and to strengthen her son's bond with his father, Mike Vanhoy.

Every Thursday morning, the 33-year-old mom, who works in social media production and interior decorating, spends time with Brooks while her father visits her home.

"Since we moved back to North Carolina, Bop has been coming over every Thursday morning for 'Bop Day,' and he's retired," she stated.

As soon as Bop's truck is spotted through the front door, Brooks jumps up and down with joy, yelling, 'Bop's here!'

In the TikTok video, Brooks repeatedly runs to the front door to greet Bop upon his arrival for a visit.

"The excitement is always infectious," Vanhoy said.

""Their friendship has brought a lot of joy to my dad's life," she said, adding that they are best friends."

Brooks learned to say "Pop" after Vanhoy tried teaching him, resulting in her father being given the nickname "Bop."

She added, 'Bop is what stuck, and it’ll probably stay Bop forever now'

Many TikTok users praised Vanhoy's video of her son, calling it "sweet" and "special."

One user exclaimed, "Moments like this truly define life!"

Seeing Brooks and "Bop" together has been a great reminder that Vanhoy made the right choice to move closer to her family, according to her.

She expressed her gratitude for witnessing her son's close relationship with her father, which not everyone gets to experience, and vowed never to take it for granted.
