For Father's Day, heavenly pennies, divine coincidences, and cherished recollections.
A California woman recounts a heartwarming tale of her father's love and the viral "Godwink" penny story on Facebook.
"These stories are about the need for more positivity, family and faith, hope and strength."
Planet Chronicle Digital recently spoke with SQuire Rushnell and Louise DuArt, co-founders of the Godwinks brands in Massachusetts, about their beliefs in faith and family values. They shared a memorable story that highlights these values.
The couple specialize in what they refer to as "Godwinks" stories.
They frequently use the term "Godwink" in their daily conversations, as they believe that God operates in mysterious ways.
"Rushnell stated in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital that "Godwink" is the latest addition to the language's vocabulary. According to him, this term refers to an occurrence that appears to be a mere coincidence but is actually guided by divine intervention."
They are currently working on a new Godwink book that will be published next year.
They shared a heartfelt story with Planet Chronicle Digital just before Father's Day in 2024.
'Thanks, Dad'
Kristen Wakefield of Sacramento, California, recalls her father frequently stating, "Even if a penny appears dirty, it remains a penny."
Since she was 8 years old, her dad encouraged her to collect pennies.
She experienced profound grief after the passing of her father, who was pivotal in her life.
One day, while walking near her home, she spoke aloud her feelings: "I love you, Dad."
At that moment, she noticed a glint of light on the ground.
She looked closer.
It was a penny, new and beautiful.
She smiled at the Godwink and said, "Thanks, Dad."
Again, she saw a glint of light on the ground.
The following day, while still grieving, she contemplated her father as she waited for a tire replacement at a car repair shop.
Again, she saw a glint of light on the ground.
She picked up the dirtiest, dullest, and most damaged penny she had ever seen.
She clutched the old Kleenex tightly and pondered, "Should I keep it?"
Then she decided, "No, it’s ugly."
Suddenly, the tire technician interrupted her thoughts and announced that her car was ready to go.
""How much do I owe you?" he asked her. "Thanks," she replied."
"My dad would have really loved this place."
He smiled at her and said, "It's part of our service, and it's free."
She almost giggled out loud, she admitted later.
If she had been present, she would have needed to share the entire conversation about pennies from heaven that had been taking place in her mind.
She thanked the man, expressing that her father would have greatly appreciated the place.
'Wouldn't want to miss that'
Rushnell and DuArt explained to Planet Chronicle Digital that in today's fast-paced world and growing economy, the act of stooping to retrieve a penny might appear futile.
"What if the glint that captures your eye is a pathway to a Godwink about your dad and cherished memories?" they added.
"You wouldn’t want to miss that."
‘With you always'
Over 4,000 people on Facebook reacted to the viral story of Kristen Wakefield, her dad, and the penny, which was shared by Rushnell SQuire and Louise DuArt.
"You may not only reap Godwinks but quite possibly some extra dollars."
One person wrote that they often find pennies, which bring them joy because they know the coins are from their mother.
Another person stated, 'My grandpa would say, "Every million begins with a penny."'
A wealthy man once told me, 'Take care of the small things and the big things will take care of themselves.' This advice not only brought me good luck but also some extra money.
Another commenter stated, "I always pick up pennies because I was told that a loved one in heaven is dropping them down to reassure me that they are always with me."
Another person wrote, "I pick up all coins because they say 'In God we trust,' and I trust in God, and they always say pennies are from heaven."
