Florida law enforcement apprehend a troublesome alligator at a 104-year-old woman's residence.
An officer from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office joked, "Let the grandmas be," as he removed the gator.
Recently, Florida law enforcement officers made a surprising "arrest" at the residence of a 104-year-old woman who had a 5-foot-long reptile as a visitor.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office shared a video of an alligator removal incident on Facebook following a call from a resident requesting the nuisance animal to be removed from their property.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office PIO informed Planet Chronicle Digital that a citizen was reportedly scared to venture outside her home because of an alligator and requested police assistance.
The encounter had the officers making humorous remarks to the gator.
Hey buddy, Officer Jeff Kopp is saying 'Oh, hey buddy!' as the alligator tries to break free by swatting its tail.
The PIO stated that Jacksonville officers were aided by a licensed trapper in the removal of the reptile.
"Kopp joked that we couldn't handcuff him, saying, 'You are under arrest. You're going to leave the grandmas alone.'"
""Let's go downtown," he added."
Kopp restrained the alligator in the back of the truck, as if returning it to the station.
The trapper's vehicle, the PIO officer shared, transported the gator from the centenarian's home.
The trapper has relocated the alligator and the reptile is "alive and well," according to the Facebook post.
"All in a day's work," the post added.
If you're concerned about an alligator in Florida, contact the FWC's toll-free "Nuisance Alligator Hotline" at 866-392-4286 and a trapper will be dispatched.
