"Sharing your weight-reduction goals can decrease your internal motivation," he said.

To remain accountable without revealing your journey, Yang advises establishing specific, quantifiable objectives and monitoring your advancement frequently.
He stated that tracking daily steps with a fitness app and setting a goal of 10,000 steps can be a private yet effective way to hold oneself accountable.
Accountability is also important, Saari added, while privacy has its advantages.
Instead of revealing your goals to everyone in your circle to feel accountable, consider sharing with someone who's on a similar path.
Saari proposed that this person could also be striving for healthier eating habits.
She added that such support can offer motivation, accountability, and a platform to discuss difficulties.
"Establish boundaries first, then communicate your support needs and comprehend their requirements."
Saari emphasized that a successful weight loss plan involves making individualized food choices based on informed decisions, rather than following someone else's guidelines.
