Cat owners spend $20K to dress their feline as a Starbucks barista.

The 2024 fall menu was released by Starbucks, and one cat seems particularly enthusiastic about the seasonal reveal.

An orange tabby cat from Santa Clara, California, named Waffle, has gained popularity on social media due to her cute outfits.

Kathy Guo and Sam Xie, cat parents, have been sharing pictures of their feline friend Waffle in different aprons on Instagram for several years.

Waffle is Sam Xie's beloved pet and is considered his child, according to Sam Xie's statement to Planet Chronicle Digital.

"We started dressing Waffle up when she was young (2016) … We did it for fun and giggles at the time," he stated.

"We began with simple costumes like collars, bandanas, and capes, and then progressed to more challenging ones that required her paws to go through."

Many social media users, including those with over 28,000 followers, have been asking where they can buy the outfits worn by the couple who posted pictures online.

Xie started selling aprons online because they were easier to put on a cat that couldn't be tamed.

"Waffle The Barista was created to promote my aprons on Instagram. We recognized the love for coffee among many people and decided to use Waffle's paws to make it look like she was brewing the coffee herself."

Xie and his wife have spent up to $20,000 on Waffle's transformation into a barista, which includes expenses on props, coffee, aprons, merchandise, and a custom Starbucks Cat Tree that cost them $2,000.

Waffle is a regular customer at a nearby Starbucks, and Xie has received employee-only pins from the workers there.

"Waffle would order the Brown Sugar Oatmilk Iced Shaken Espresso from Starbucks, as he said, because the drink piques his curiosity, possibly due to its scent."

The Pumpkin Spice Latte returned to Starbucks on August 21 and was available on shelves the next day.

The 2024 fall menu will feature a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, an Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, and an Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato.

Starbucks announced the addition of several new items to their menu this year, including the Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai, the Iced Caramel Apple Cream Latte, and the Iced Honey Apple Almondmilk Flat White.

The price of Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte varies between $6.25 in Texas and $7.25 in New York City for a grande size.
