Arizona officials respond to emergency call about escaped reptile crossing busy highway.

Officials are sharing details about a slow-moving reptile incident on social media after receiving a call about it on a busy interstate.

On July 30, the AZDPS responded to a scene where an animal was attempting to cross I-10 near Picacho Peak, Arizona.

The man who called 911 and rescued Stitch, a large sulcata tortoise, should be thanked, according to the AZDPS' social media accounts.

Sgt. Steven Sekrecki assisted Stitch in crossing the road before other officers spotted a tag on the animal's back.

Officials with the AZDPS wrote that troopers recognized a label on Stitch's shell and contacted Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch.

It was discovered that Stitch had escaped from a ranch situated two miles away from where he was located.

Officials from the AZDPS stated in a post that the ranch had confirmed that Stitch was one of their tortoises and had recently escaped.

The Ostrich Ranch, featuring animal feeding, stingray viewing, and monster truck tours, is an attraction park.

According to the ranch's website, the ranch seen on "Larry the Cable Guy — Only in America" is a three-generation family-owned working ostrich ranch.

In 1999, the attraction offered only ostrich feeding. Now, visitors can feed a variety of animals including Sicilian donkeys, Nigerian dwarf goats, fallow deer, and pecking ducks.

The AZDPS' X post expressed gratitude for Stitch's safe return to the ranch.
