Amid social unrest, luxury bomb shelters are being purchased by the wealthy, according to the founder.
A builder says that the interior of his bunkers resemble houses.
A Dallas, Texas-based doomsday bunker company has experienced a surge in clients due to growing concerns among Americans about social unrest.
This week, in a phone interview with Planet Chronicle Digital, Ron Hubbard, the owner of Atlas Survival Shelters, stated that nearly half of Americans believe the U.S. may experience a civil war.
Atlas Survival Shelters produces a range of survival shelters to safeguard individuals during pandemics, civil unrest, attacks by malicious mobs, biological nuclear fallout or EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attacks from homegrown terrorists or other nations.
A Marist National Poll conducted in May found that 13% of Americans believe a civil war is "very likely," while an additional 34% consider it "likely."
Hubbard stated that business is currently thriving and they offer bunkers ranging from $20,000 to over a million dollars.
"Most bunkers we construct cost around $500,000 on average, as our current clientele are not low-income individuals."
The average bunker has about nine rooms — and is "turnkey."
On average, Hubbard sells one bunker per day and his phone is constantly ringing.
He stated that his bunkers do not possess the luxurious amenities found in other bunkers, designed for the elite.
Hubbard stated that anyone who viewed the interiors of his bunkers would believe they were in a hotel room.
"They want to be in something that feels like a luxury bomb shelter."
"Because high-end clients understand the importance of luxury and comfort, they choose to work with me."
Among his impressive list of clients are Kim and Khloé Kardashian, as well as Mr. Beast.
Atlas Survival Shelters has a factory in Poland, in addition to its one in Dallas, which serves European clients.
Clients in the Middle East have become a "hotbed" for Hubbard, who serves clients globally.
"The United Arab Emirates, among other countries, are adopting Israeli practices of living in high-rise apartments and converting a single room into a self-contained unit with a gas pipe door and a nuclear, biological, and chemical air filtration system."
Hubbard said he has been sharing the idea with American builders.
He suggested that they adopt Israeli standards and convert a single room in a house into a fortified room to safeguard individuals from gunfire, tornadoes, hurricanes, and civil unrest.
His company does more than just sell bunkers, said Hubbard.
It also tries to educate people about preparedness.
TikTok has seen Atlas Survival Shelters gain a million likes, while Instagram boasts 267,000 followers.
