A TikTok mom shared a back-to-school hack that helps with chaotic mornings, and it's gaining popularity: 'Love this'
Praise for Mom's TikTok video highlights her resourceful DIY idea.
A mom with three children has revealed a time-saving back-to-school hack that she uses every morning.
A stay-at-home mom from outside San Antonio, Texas, Katelyn Knibbe, 27, stated that getting her kids ready for school in the morning can be quite chaotic.
To alleviate the stress of the new school year, Knibbe posted a hack on TikTok.
In the video, Knibbe demonstrated how she planned her daughter Corra's outfits for the week, eliminating the need for last-minute decisions each morning.
"One of the biggest stressors in the morning when I was growing up was picking out an outfit for the day," she said.
I remember struggling to find an outfit to wear and rushing to get out the door every day. To make matters worse, all the clothes I tried on would end up on the floor and create a mess.
To prevent her daughter, who is in kindergarten, from experiencing the same issue, she created a custom wardrobe organization system.
""She can find all of her daily needs in the designated bin, including clothes, accessories, shoes, and more," she stated."
Knibbe stated that school mornings have flowed better since there is "one less thing to worry about."
"A week into school, she has enjoyed having her outfit bins in the mornings!"
Knibbe stated, "Her involvement in the decision-making and preparation made her more excited to use the outfits we picked out together during the week."
The DIY hack is both affordable and quick, taking only 20 minutes and costing around $10, according to Knibbe.
The mother of three revealed that she utilized plastic storage containers from Walmart, printed labels from Pinterest featuring the days of the week, and affixed them to the containers.
She admitted that allowing her daughter to choose her outfits for the week may have added a few minutes, but the process was still relatively quick.
Knibbe will maintain the school morning routine for the duration of the year and as long as her daughter desires.
"I have a family with three kids and a husband who runs his own business, which means we don't have the time or energy to do complicated things," she said. "If you have a kiddo who is a little indecisive like mine is, this is extremely easy to do and will make your mornings so smooth."
Others have successfully integrated this hack into their morning routines as well.
LaWayne Dacosta, a Georgia mom, shared with Planet Chronicle Digital last year that she introduced this hack into their routine to address her daughter's growing opinions about her outfits.
The pre-planning aided in enhancing "conversations and bonding time" between the two individuals.
One TikTok user praised Knibbe's video idea as a "game changer" while others commented on it.
One user wrote, "Good job, mama!"
Another TikTok user expressed their desire to perform this action for their girls but were unable to determine the proper method. They were greatly impressed by the idea.
