A tiger shark sighting near the Hawaiian coast leads to the posting of warning signs on the beach.

Lifeguards are reminding beachgoers to check in with them after a 12-foot-long tiger shark was spotted near Magic Island in Hawaii.

A shark warning was issued by the Honolulu Emergency Services Department after a marine creature was spotted swimming 30 yards from the island's break wall along Oahu's South Shore, according to Island News.

After being spotted at noon on June 27, the Honolulu emergency team classified the shark as "non-aggressive."

No injuries or attacks have been reported, as officials stated that the shark was not behaving aggressively, according to the local outlet.

Shark warning signs have been posted along Magic Island since the sighting.

Visitors and swimmers at the beach are advised to consult with lifeguards on duty before entering the water to ensure they have the latest information on any shark warnings.

According to Ocean Conservancy, tiger sharks are renowned for their aggression and have the second-most attacks on humans among shark species, surpassed only by great white sharks.

According to National Geographic, tiger sharks are among the three shark species that pose the greatest threat to humans, with the bull shark and the great white shark being the other two.

Another tiger shark was spotted on June 12, following an "aggressive" tiger shark sighting off Kakaako, Hawaii News Now reported.

According to the outlet, an aggressive tiger shark, measuring between eight and ten feet, was spotted feeding on fish at the Point Panic surf break.

In the past month, there have been numerous sightings and interactions with both aggressive and non-aggressive sharks in Oahu, resulting in one fatal attack.

A professional surfer and lifeguard was killed by a shark attack off the North Shore of Oahu, according to Planet Chronicle Digital.
