A renowned Texas stylist, often referred to as the 'Color Analysis Queen,' unveils the three colors that are safe for all clients.
As you age, knowing 'your best colors' becomes increasingly crucial, according to Tatum Schwerin of Dallas.
For a good reason, Tatum Schwerin, a Dallas mom of three, is known as the "Color Analysis Queen."
Her goal is to assist women nationwide in selecting the optimal colors for their personal style and wardrobe.
Curated & Clothed, a company that offers virtual and in-person styling services for women, was founded by Schwerin.
She shared with Planet Chronicle Digital her expertise in color analysis as an image consultant, and how she developed a passion for this field of work by assisting women in selecting the most suitable colors for their skin tone and overall appearance.
She began assisting women in their closets around four or five years ago and aimed to enhance her knowledge of color to better serve her clients.
In order to accurately determine your best colors, I would need to drape you, isolate your skin, and remove all makeup.
She was the first to suggest using the pattern of her eye to create a color scheme, and her friends eagerly accepted the opportunity to have their colors done.
From there, it quickly became a popular service among my clients.
The trend of having one's colors determined, she stated, was popular in the '80s and has resurfaced — as many trends frequently do.
Schwerin evaluates a client's eye pattern and skin shade to determine the optimal color palette for the customer.
She stated that all color analysis is derived from the original artist's palette of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
The process in 2024 has expanded to 16 different possibilities.
A makeup-free customer sitting in a chair initiates a color analysis, as stated by Schwerin.
She requests individuals to bring a photo of themselves prior to coloring their hair if it is applicable.
She isolates the skin and applies shades of colors close to the customer's face for viewing.
"To determine if you are cool or warm, I begin with undertone. From there, we find your best colors. Afterward, I reveal your worst colors, the ones you should avoid," she stated.
Schwerin stated that a "cool winter" person would possess the flow of a "winter" and a "summer" at the same time. This could mean having a "summer" eye with "winter" hair and skin coloring.
Schwerin emphasized that the color suggestions for investment wardrobe pieces are merely suggestions and individuals are free to wear any color they desire.
The "Color Analysis Queen" will provide expert advice on the best metals for women to wear, makeup shades to use, and more.
At the conclusion of her appointment, Schwerin offers her clients a color wallet containing the most flattering shades to aid in their styling decisions.
She mentioned that three colors are typically safe bets for any wardrobe.
Those would be white, red and navy.
She stated that white, in a certain shade, looks good on everyone, and navy is a universally accepted color.
The business owner, with nearly 83,000 TikTok followers and over 10 million views on some videos, stated that a color analysis is a lifelong investment since one's color palette remains constant.
"Your color palette remains constant, but the recommendations for the best hair color for you may vary," she stated.
As age progresses, adhering to one's color palette becomes increasingly crucial, according to Schwerin.
Wearing the wrong colors can give the impression of texture and shadows on the skin as you age, she stated.
