A priest who gave a benediction at a Trump rally cautioned against those who desire to harm the former president.
A Pennsylvania pastor who gave a warning before Trump's speech said he "didn't expect it to happen on that day."
During a campaign rally on Saturday, a Ukrainian Catholic priest who gave the benediction spoke of "people who want to shoot" Donald Trump just minutes before the assassination attempt that left Trump wounded, two others critically injured, and one bystander dead.
On Sunday night, Jason Charron, pastor at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, shared with Planet Chronicle Digital in a phone interview that he received a call from the Trump campaign last week asking him to lead the opening prayer and blessing at Saturday's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Charron stated that his benediction was a prayer to God to enable us to view the current crisis in the nation and world clearly.
Before the former president spoke, Charron was preparing to leave for another obligation but stopped first to meet with a group of Trump supporters.
Charron stated that they observed him delivering the prayer and inquired about the arrival of Trump, along with other related matters.
While conversing with a sizable crowd on the barricade, Charron took photos and shook hands. He emphasized that he had prayed for Trump, but the crowd needed to take action as well.
Charron remembered recalling that it was necessary to pray for his protection because there were individuals who wanted to harm him.
"Pray for him and his protection because there are people who want to shoot him."
"Their duty is to continue offering prayer."
Charron admitted to Planet Chronicle Digital that he spoke loudly, which was unusual for him.
"That there are people who want to shoot and kill him, and they need to pray for his safety, came out of my mouth just now," Charron stated.
"That day, I didn't expect it to happen."
A bullet grazed Trump's ear before Charron left the Butler Farm Show grounds.
The gunman, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, fired several shots, critically injuring two spectators and killing a former fire chief who was protecting his family from the bullets, according to authorities.
The Secret Service sniper fired back, killing the assailant, according to the agency.
Charron believes that his predictive remarks are a result of God perceiving the thoughts of others, including Crooks' thoughts of assassination, and placing a warning in his heart to remind people to pray for protection.
Priests and ministers often encounter common issues in their work, reminding us that we must navigate a universe of unseen powers and spiritual realities.
Charron spoke with Trump before the latter addressed the crowd.
Charron thanked Trump's administration for handling the escalating situation in Ukraine during their brief conversation.
Charron stated that Trump was "grateful" to receive acknowledgment for not getting the credit he deserved.
Trump allegedly stated that he was "heartbroken" upon learning of the casualties in Ukraine and that the situation "didn't have to be this way," according to Charron.
On Sunday night, when asked about the shooter's actions, Charron stated that the church views murder as a violation of the Fifth Commandment.
Charron stated that we pray at the same time that he repented of his decision to take another man's life before he took his last breath.
Charron stated that he believes that the events that occurred on Saturday are a direct result of the culture established by Roe v. Wade, which devalues human life.
He stated, "If it's inconvenient or problematic to our worldview, certain human lives can be disposed of."
The same disregard for the dignity of the human person is what makes it demonic.
