A patriot's concerns about a 'woke' military are highlighted in the new book 'The War on Warriors' by Pete Hegseth.
A 'Fox & Friends Weekend' cohost, who is also a husband, father, and patriot, has published a personal memoir about America's military.
In "The War on Warriors," Pete Hegseth, the bestselling author and co-host of "Fox & Friends Weekend," offers a blunt assessment of the current state of the military.
He stated that his fifth book, a personal memoir, was a labor of love for him.
"He expressed his love for the military and his country to Planet Chronicle Digital in a phone interview a few days ago. He wanted to convey this sentiment, but he believes things are not right currently and that they need to be corrected. This is the overall ethos."
In 2001, I enlisted in the Army with the goal of serving my country. Following the 9/11 attacks, we went to war. In 2003, I was promoted to infantry officer. I was stationed at Guantánamo Bay in 2004, where I guarded terrorists. In 2005, I led men in combat in Iraq. In 2012, I pulled bodies out of burning vehicles in Afghanistan. In 2020, I held a riot shield outside the White House.
"I didn't want any part of the organization any longer if that was the direction it was going."
In 2021, he was labeled an "extremist" by the Army.
Twenty years of loving, fighting, and revering the military were abruptly cut short when it spit me out. While writing this book, I separated from an Army that no longer wanted me, and I felt the same way.
He shared with Planet Chronicle Digital that he had a personal experience where no one could explain why he was being let go. When he couldn't receive an answer, he decided to resign and left the company. He then joined the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).
In chapter 6 of his book titled "The Army thinks the enemy...is Pete," he notes that he was officially separated from the Army in January 2024.
It reveals the entire compelling story of what happened from his vantage point.
"He stated that this type of silent purging occurs, as seen in the military's handling of exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccine. The denial of exemptions was simply communicated without explanation, leaving the individuals to comply silently with whatever the military desired."
He stated that the reason for the situation was a political and partisan one.
He stated, "I could piece together what happened."
""I learned that it was due to a tattoo on my chest, a Jerusalem cross, which they believed was an extremist tattoo. They searched my Instagram page and found it. However, it's not an extremist tattoo; it's a Christian one," he stated."
"Our military has to be an apolitical entity focused on allegiance to the Constitution and merit."
At the moment, he stated, "I was unaware" of the reasons behind the occurrences happening to him.
I've served under Obama, Bush, and Trump. None of that matters to me. However, I could tell it happened because of who I am.
If the organization continued in that direction, I no longer wanted to be a part of it.
Our military must remain an apolitical entity that prioritizes allegiance to the Constitution and merit. If it deviates from this focus, it can be manipulated for the wrong purposes.
Hegseth is equally passionate about the need for a strong military and hopes his children will eventually choose to serve their country in uniform.
In his epilogue titled "A letter to my sons," he writes, "If we lose our Pentagon, military, and Army, we have truly lost America."
It is up to your generation to fight for a change in leadership inside our military, even in the face of serious headwinds. It is an uphill battle to right that ship. But it is up to you to decide if service to country is still worth it.
He poses the questions, "Is America still worth fighting for? Is America still worth dying for?"
He tells his sons, "Despite the uncertainties and doubts, I hope you will become part of the American military. Although our military is not flawless, we cannot afford to lose it."
He states, "I want my boys to place the American flag on their shoulders when they raise their right hand."
Hegseth dedicates his book to "the American fighting man, past, present, and future."
"The War on Warriors," a bestseller, is now available on Amazon and at all bookstores.
Hegseth has authored four New York Times bestsellers, including "In the Arena," "American Crusade," "Modern Warriors," and "Battle for the American Mind."
