A dramatic thunderstorm serves as a breathtaking backdrop for the wedding photos of a Kansas photographer.
A photographer in Wichita, Kansas, captures a stunning image of newlyweds as a storm passes by.
On May 19, a Kansas couple refused to let major storms ruin their wedding day, despite the bad weather.
A wedding photographer and her clients embraced the excitement of capturing the essence of being a Kansan during a stormy wedding day.
Ashley Patton, owner of Ashley Patton Photography LLC in Wichita, Midwest, told Planet Chronicle Digital that it's a common practice in Kansas to run into storms rather than away from them.
In Viola, Kansas, Trapper and MaKayla Shore officially became husband and wife.
But the weather was less than ideal that Sunday following their nuptials.
Patton stated that it was sunny, humid, and the winds outside were near 40-plus miles per hour.
As the reception was enjoyed by family and friends, Patton stepped outside and observed ominous clouds gathering.
She immediately recognized it as the ideal backdrop for the couple's wedding photos, she stated.
"This was completely unplanned," Patton said.
"In a brief moment, it occurred. We were on the street for approximately four minutes."
The Mustang of the trapper's brother was pulled up to create burnout, and the headlights were switched on to backlight the photos.
Patton understood that he had a limited opportunity to capture the moving storm clouds before nightfall set in.
The newlyweds were directed by the photographer over the noisy, hard-fast winds that picked up.
According to Trapper Shore, a member of the U.S. Air Force, the day began with sunshine and heat, around 90 degrees, and strong winds. However, it soon turned stormy.
According to Patton, the dramatic scene was captured perfectly by the photos, requiring minimal editing due to the thunderous splendor.
She remarked that it was perfect and beautiful with no challenges.
According to Fox Television Stations, Trapper Shore was "stunned" by the photos, while McKayla Shore felt that the gloomy weather held a special meaning.
As a military wife, the stormy photos symbolize the challenges we will encounter as a couple, but we will face them because the day began well, turned turbulent, and then improved to become a wonderful evening.
Photographing the couple was a memorable experience for Patton, as everything fell into place seamlessly.
She quipped, "Although we lack a tornado in the backdrop, I'm relieved it didn't occur."
Trapper and MaKayla Shore were contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital for further comment and updates.
